Yeah, I thought that was kinda strange. I wonder if the $20k was really for booze and hookers.

I had to Google, but this is on History Channel.

I'll give it a shot. I'm a sucker for these shows.

They really need to spin off a History Reality channel since that's all History has become.

Yeah, that's been tickin' me off lately. Thank goodness I've got H2 (what a hideous name change that was), that is more like what the History channel used to be.

I'll watch because my wife's family is from around there and I've been in that pawn shop before. It's really more of a museum of movie and TV memorabilia and very little "traditional" pawn shop. It is quite a trip though.

I didn't find it as interesting as Pawn Stars, but its mindless enough for a half hour. I've read they have 14 episodes in the first season.

There's only so many new shows you can produce about history. The old reruns can't get enough ratings to justify the existence of the channel, so they produce reality shows with a loose connection to history and push the old stuff to a different channel. It's that same as what happened to MTV.

I haven't seen the new show as I didn't even know it existed until now.

To me it seemed like he called up his buddies and had them come in with stuff.

I had no idea that you could pawn a herd of donkeys. Do people regularly get loans on animals or was this setup for the show?

I would suspect that in rural areas, livestock is a sure bet for pawning.

I wonder if the interest is cheaper than feeding and housing the animals that are pawned.

True. After 157 shows on the Titanic they've probably covered every angle

I watched 1 episode last night, with the Jerry Lee Lewis record. Pretty entertaining. It really is more of a history show than about pawning.

That guys shop really does look like a antique shop.

I'll keep watching.

History hired the same person who made over A&E. After running nothing but Law and Order re-runs, A&E finally has viewers. So History is now doing the same thing. It's smart. They bring in new viewers (I never watched History until now) and they still have 24 hours of programming a day, so they can run the traditional History material outside of prime time, when ratings don't need to be as high.

That lady was crazy wanting that much money for a "clone" of a General Lee.

I'm really enjoying this version of the show.
