So I've got my THD here humming away happily and I just ordered up a new 500g HD to upgrade with WinMFS.

After the upgrade is done, theoretically, should I be able to just plug it in and go, or will I need to some how re-pair things?

I have FIOS if that matters...

Cablecard settings should be copied over using backup/restore or mfscopy in WinMFS.

If you are using MFSLive Linux Boot Cd full backup|restore pipe will copy everything over but truncated backup (backup -s) then restore will not.

Well - I'll be using WinMFS, and I want to keep my previous recordings as well.

Is backup/restore the way to go or disk/disk?

I'm not even sure I have enough free space on my computer to do a full backup/restore, so I'm hoping your answer is to do disk/disk copy.

Thanks Spike!
