I just transferred something from TiVo (Series 2) to VCR for the first time yesterday. I did it manually (press play on TiVo, press record on VCR) without using the "Save to VCR" feature.

Anyway, everything seemed to go fine... except for the audio. It's kinda low, but the MUCH bigger problem is the loud buzzing sound that is constantly in the background.

The hookup is via the red/white/yellow A/V cable. The VCR tape was brand new. What is the problem? Could it have anything to do with the manual transfer instead of the "Save To VCR" transfer? I can't really see how, but who knows. Is it the connection? Or is it just that TiVo-to-VCR transfers always have a terrible buzzing sound?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Possibly a ground loop. Are the TiVo and VCR plugged into the same outlet/surge protector? Try moving one of them if not.
I have 4 outlets in the wall behind the TV. It looks like this:

:: ::
:: ::

The upper left is a cordless phone.
The lower left is empty.
The upper right is TiVo.
The lower right is one of those 5-outlets-in-1 things. On that is the VCR, DVD player, TV and cable box.

Does that look right... or is this setup possibly causing my buzz sound?
