Just as long as you undestand that with the Tivo's HD an Series 3, there has been an ongoing problem with pixelation, mostly during playback... If you don't mind the smaller hard drive, or can swap out the Tivo HD drive then the Tivo HD "lite" is the way to go...
That is until the cable cards get introduced to the Tivo, was quite a pain going
though 14 cards to get paired...
i would try to be as accurate as possible when you make a statement like that (about pixelation), in order not to give the wrong impression. firstly, my tivo HD works fantastic, and i have no issues like pixelation. if you check back, most of those issues were with specific cc's (scientific atlanta), not all cc's. i'm just trying to make sure no one makes blanket statements that could hurt all that tivo has done to try and make the problems as minimal as possible. i've just d/l the latest software update (8.17c), and i believe this is the third in a short period of time. this shows that tivo is attempting to correct things quickly. again, just make sure you're stating facts, not a broad statement that would be very easily construed as fact, and possibly effect sales or possible new subs buying the tivo HD in the first place.
also, all the subs who have not had problems are not as vocal as those few who are experiencing some difficulties. i think its safe to say there is always a percentage of units that will experience some problems, but hopefully they can be corrected quickly. considering the excellent response from tivo on this site, i applaud tivo's presense here, and hope those who've considered returning their units will take advantage of the additional 30 day window before giving up.
