I want to buy a Tivo HD, but I have to wait until the Verizon Fios service is available in my area, which should be soon, it will not work on my current satellite service. I found the Tivo HD unit for $267 shipped and the Tivo wireless adapter for $35 shipped, does anyone think these prices will fall in the next few months, or is this a good deal? It is almost like I will be getting the wireless adapter free. What do you think - should I get it early or wait?

Well, it may not fall, but it is highly unlikely it will get more expensive. I suggest waiting.
When will FIOS be available for you? Once Christmas shopping starts in late November, you will likely be able to get better deals.
Also, any chance you can run some network wire to the future Tivo location? That will save you some $.

Well it is available in our Central Office I have Fios Internet, but want the TV also, but I am in the city, and they have to make a franchise deal with them, until that is done, I will have to wait. I want the TV, Internet, and phone for $99.99.sneagle said:

Just as long as you undestand that with the Tivo's HD an Series 3, there has been an ongoing problem with pixelation, mostly during playback... If you don't mind the smaller hard drive, or can swap out the Tivo HD drive then the Tivo HD "lite" is the way to go...

What you could do ise get the TiVoHD now, and use it for OTA until you can get FIOS.

no. And you can read about how the pixellation issues are being corrected by TiVo inc. in this forum so when youa re ready for more than analog you will be covered. Might want to look into an OTA (over the air) antenna as well. You can record that HD but play it through SD outputs on the TiVo for a sharp looking SD picture.BearXOX said:

Dude, when's the thread crappin' going to end? Everyone who has been on these boards for at least a couple of weeks knows that you were unhappy with the TivoHD that you returned and don't seem to be very pleased with the Series 3. Take the pixelation comments with a large grain of salt. Many experienced pixelization problems with the shipping level of software. Tivo released an upgrade where the problems all but disappeared for Motorola CableCARD users and all OTA/basic cable users.BearXOX said:

FWIW, I have a Motorola MCard and saw some issues on the a1 software level. They went away on the b2 level.
