What exactly does it do? They last a long time but must get weak or go dead eventually (I've replaced them on computer MBs but never a Tivo). What kind of issues could you expect if a Tivo button battery goes dead? Maybe I should replace them all just to be safe.

One time I had the cover off my Roamio. I was looking for a way to do a really deep reset. I removed the battery. I shorted out the connections. No effect. I don't know if a Bolt has a battery.

Must serve SOME purpose? Computer it is used to keep CMOS/BIOS settings. Not sure about Bolt either, if not maybe whatever it is supposed to do is done on the flash drive? Though a Roamio has flash drive too, just not as much on it. I may just replace them all, who knows, might be the cause of some unexplainable quirky errors. 2032s, GOOD quality can last many years (even decades) in this type application. But have to find good quality, many now are junk.
