I now know of three people (myself included) that have no TV (With the exception of basic analog channels) on our S3's. Two of us are Beta testers, and have had v9.1 for a while now -- Which is making me think this is a BH issue...

Reboots do nothing. ECM and EMM both at 0.

Anyone else having an outage?

Note: Internet and BH provided DVR's work fine.

had an dropout of signal tuesday and wednesday from BH... missed several shows because of it...

think they will credit the account for the outage? naw
So, when this happens, is it now ethical to Torrent the shows you've missed? ;)

The CFL outage has been for about two days. They (BH) claim there are no issues, and are sending a tech out today with "New Cable Cards" -- So we'll see...

I dunt think missing one show will be of any great concern...

I do however expect a service to be provided... be it the cable provider and or from a Tivo DMR

Were you to take your car in for an oil change an come to find out the used oil was placed back in your crankcase, you'd be PO'd no?

For the EMM count=0 has anyone contacted the Bright House Network Operations Center "NOC" in Orlando and asked them to do a EMM hit or EMM refresh ?

That is what they had to do to get my EMM count to start climbing from zero

Lost my digital channels on Thursday. Called Customer Service, not NOC, was connected to CSR. She didn't know what I was talking about and insisted on a truck roll for Saturday. Called again on Friday afternoon, was connected with CSR "repair specialist". She knew what needed to be done when I asked for a refresh of my CableCARDs. I immediately saw EMM Count start to climb. I could view digital channels via CableCARD Test Channel menu, but couldn't view them via LiveTV. After about 10 minutes, did a restart of TiVo. EMM Count went back to zero. Called BHN again, and was connected to a different 'repair specialist' who also knew how to refresh CableCARDs. EMM Count climbed to 14 and stayed there, but again could not view digitial channels via LiveTV although could see them via Test Channel option. Tuner diagnostic would show "Not Tuned: Bad Card State" and no CableCARD associated with tuner. I went off and did something else for about a half-hour, came back and tried to tune digital channels via LiveTV once again. And there they were! Have no idea why the long delay between refresh and being able to view channels in LiveTV. When CableCARDs originally installed last weekend, there was no delay. Also, don't know what happened to lose digital channels to begin with.

Are you using two s-cards or two m-cards in your S3? Are you getting the 9.1 software problem? I had the "9.1 bug" with two s-cards, switched to two m-cards and have not had this problem again. Though I also had what appears to be a separate/localized CFL Brighthouse cablecard problem last week with the two m-cards.

2 s-cards.
What was your problem last week with the m-cards? I wonder if my outage was related.

Last week (Thursday/Friday) there was a cablecard problem with Brighthouse Orlando. I could not receive any controlled access channels (a few between 74-99 and all 100+) on either of the two cablecards. This was not related to the problem Tivo users have had with cablecards since the 9.1 software upgrade. I understand this was just a problem in all or part of the Brighthouse Orlando area.

Certain conditions with cablecards in Tivos running the 9.1 software have caused the second card to lock out access to all digital channels. Some recordings are missed because the Tivo can't get a signal on one of the cards. A reboot restores the cablecards. While on the 9.1 software, I had this problem a few times using two Scientific Atlanta "s-cards". After switching to two Scientific Atlanta "m-cards" I have not had the 9.1 software related problem again. From other discussion threads it appears to be occuring only with Tivos on 9.1 software and running two Scientific Atlanta s-cards. The 9.2 software starting to rollout may address this issue. The switch to two m-cards seems to have fixed it for me.

The S3 requires two m-cards and the TivoHD can get by on one m-card. Brighthouse Orlando does stock the m-cards (multi-stream card). If you have the TivoHD you can save a few dollars on your cable bill by using just one m-card.

Starting Monday I had the problem of "no video signal" on cablecard 1, Bright House Orlando. As has been stated in other threads, this is likely a Tivo 9.1 problem, not a Bright House Problem, since a reboot temporarily fixed it and many not in Orlando have the same problem

The Thursday/Friday problem was different than the 9.1 problem. A reboot did not fix the "Thursday/Friday problem" that occurred on both cablecards for me. Rebooting fixes the "9.1 problem" temporarily. Using m-cards instead of s-cards fixes the 9.1 problem "permanently" (1-1/2 weeks with no 9.1 problem so far for me). This is based on one test subject (my S3 - frequently had the 9.1 problem with s-cards; no 9.1 problem since switch to m-cards).

I would still recommend switching to two m-cards (just one if you have the newer TivoHD). Or, you could wait and see if 9.2 fixes the problem. Scan the other threads and you will see the 9.1 problem is with Scientific Atlanta s-cards only.

No. It was clearly a Cable card outage with Brighthouse. I now know of 7 people with S3 tivos and were out for over 24 hours.

Are you allowed to tell us that? Didn't TiVoPony say something about The First Rule of Beta Club... ?
Perhaps... But, I never said which two... ;)

But what sucks is they won't let you pick up the m-cards yourself. You need to have one of their Cronies come out and Install it for you...

Last week, my Orginal Appointment for them to come out and fix my Cablecards was for 9am - Noon --- 4 Automated Phone calls later it was 4-6pm. And they Never Actually came. I'm not sure how they expect people to take this much time off from work to fix issues. Fortunately for me, I work from home. But had that not of been the case, I would of lost a full day of work because they couldn't/didn't admit the issue was on their end. Lame.
