From what I have read
I'll be watching it again this year as I loved it last year!!

I'm looking forward to the return of the show, but based on a couple comments made during the TCA press tour, the budget has been trimmed, so it's likely to take place much more in the office and have fewer outside jobs. Hopefully that won't negatively affect the quality, but I'm skeptical.

I don't necessarily dislike Megan Mullaly, but I thought her character on S2 of Party Down was horrible. I hope that's not the type of character that's being added to this show.

I caught on to this show after most of the episodes last season had aired and it was already presumed to be cancelled. Watching it was bittersweet, because I really enjoyed what I saw. So glad to hear it is coming back!

Christian Slater was what made the show. He was hysterical. If they are replacing him, the show won't be nearly as good.

Also since Odette is now on House she'll only be recurring here and no Dutch. Super bummed. But I will still watch any and every second of Slater I can get so......

Odette's not going to be a regular? That's a major bummer. She was some nice eye candy, and the recurring stuff with Dutch was pretty funny.

I'll still watch because I liked the show and liked Slater's character, but that's another strike against it.

I don't agree with that. It's all public knowledge so how is that a spoiler?

Doesn't matter if you agree or not. Those are the policies. There are other users who avoid entertainment news to avoid seeing casting and other spoilers, so they can enter the episodes completely fresh.

BTW: spoilers have been a point of contention here for a long time, so it is usually easier to err on the side of caution.

I get spoiler policy but this show is being rebooted so basically IMO it's no different than the conversation people are having about brand new shows and the actors that are involved. But I'll not mention again anyhow. And I'll spoiler my post though someone has already quoted me.

i just made it a spoiler to be safe, i've seen other threads where people get upset over casting news.. i should have named it 'breaking in - casting news - spoiler', but i was lazy.. anyways, as long as he is still in it i'm watching

What do you mean, "keep trying to bring it back"? It had the first season, which ended, then FOX retained rights to the show and intended to bring it back, they just didn't know when they would be doing so. It all depended on space becoming available in the schedule. Since the first season ended, this has always been the plan.

Didn't it take a long hiatus during S1 though? It feels like they keep trying to retool this show to make it work.

This is the first attempt at retooling. And no long break, there was only 7 episodes to the first season. All aired together.

After the first order of episodes listed above aired, there was no movement on renewing the show. The show got decent ratings, just not great compared to it's lead in, the massively rated American Idol.

For a while, it did look like the show would be canceled - FOX never placed an order for a second season. Then, nearly at the last minute, FOX renewed the contracts for the actors, but still never ordered more episodes. When the 2011/2012 season schedule was announced, the show *still* had yet to make it's way to the schedule.

As mentioned, the plan was apparently always to bring it back... they just had other shows that made it to the schedule instead.

Sounds like Frylock is maybe confusing this show with something else.
