Other than having a hard time getting back into the US, this would have been a perfect opportunity for Jessie to completely free himself from everything. Just finish the job on Gus and Mike.
Gus did take an antidote, one of two pills it looked like. But I guess he decided it was still dangerous enough that he would throw up as well.I'm surprised there was no antidote other than throwing up.
I'm sure the "antidote" wasn't really a true antidote, but was simply something to slow the absorption or reduce the effects. As we saw, even with the pill and the vomiting, Gus is still in very bad shape.Gus did take an antidote, one of two pills it looked like. Its from out of the country tho so it would be very hard to verify.I would think the fake, probably poorly documented, inheritance would cause all kinds of IRS problems.
Even worse, they totally glossed over how they managed to convert $620K from dirty cash into clean money so quickly. Skylar already complained it was going to take a long time to launder that much through the car wash.I would think the fake, probably poorly documented, inheritance would cause all kinds of IRS problems.
Skylar just made a huge mistake telling Ted. I can see lots of potential plots coming out of that.Skylar is totally off the reservation and as Saul said, that was a bad decision. But it was made exponentially worse when she told Ted she provided the money. That's not going to turn out well. The one thing about that storyline that I don't get is that Saul would agree to go through with Skylar's plan without first involving Walt. It's not remotely plausible that Saul would give away over $600k of Walt's money in a manner that he didn't agree with, without first at least mentioning the plan to Walt.
I am neither a lawyer nor an accountant, but, even on an international inheritance, wouldn't there be some manner of estate tax involved, so that Skylar would have had to have given Ted 35% or so above and beyond the $600k he actually owed?I would think the fake, probably poorly documented, inheritance would cause all kinds of IRS problems.
They wouldn't have to launder it through the car wash in this instance. The fact that it's coming from his deceased great aunt in Luxembourg is the laundering.john4200 said:Even worse, they totally glossed over how they managed to convert $620K from dirty cash into clean money so quickly. The estate pays whatever tax is due prior to distributions. The recipient doesn't typically owe anything. Although I'm not sure how it works when the inheritance is from an international source.Fassade said:I am neither a lawyer nor an accountant, but, even on an international inheritance, wouldn't there be some manner of estate tax involved, so that Skylar would have had to have given Ted 35% or so above and beyond the $600k he actually owed?
You misunderstand. The difficulty is getting the cash under the house into some semi-legitimate bank in Luxembourg. If that were easy, then there would be no need for the car wash. Just have Saul get the Whites a $9M (or whatever) inheritance from a long lost Aunt in Luxembourg. They wouldn't have to launder it through the car wash in this instance. No, I didn't misunderstand. Skylar can give the cash to Saul and he deposits it in his account and then issues a check to Ted. There's no reason the check has to come from Luxembourg because Saul doesn't expect that Ted will ever question the source.john4200 said:You misunderstand. I was wondering when they were going to get Jessie some SPF!Now how is Jessie going to learn Spanish?
I wonder how Jessie is going to feel about Walt still wanting him to kill Gus, especially now that he has had such an intense bonding experience with him. Both Gus and Mike now owe him their lives. And I'm sure Jessie likes feeling trusted and respected by them, especially after what happened between him and Walt.
I also wonder if anyone is going to find the recording of the manufacturing process, and try to replicate it.
