I've had a problem with my Tivo (UK model) in that it will not wake up when I press the remote. Recently it has been responding if I pressed the remote for a minute or two and would then work normally for several minutes thereafter. Later on it would go back to being non-responsive.
Remote control seems to be working (I can see IR in my camera screen) and is a recent (1 year ago) replacement.
Have an upgraded HD in the box.
Anyone have any ideas? Is this a problem with older boxes?

Usual culprits are the sensor on the TiVo is blocked by something, low battery in the remote, or another remote with a stuck button continually transmitting and interfering.

Doh, it was the batteries! How did I not manage to work that out? Doublely embarrasing with a living room looks like Jodrell Bank!
