Bolt Network Connection Recommendations

I currently have 1 Roamio installed with 4 Mini's all running on a MOCA network. I also have a Series 3 HD using an Ethernet connection to access the Roamio via my Xfinity Router/modem. The Roamio is the bridge between MOCA and the Ethernet Xfinity router. I just ordered a Bolt VOX to be installed on the setup. QUESTION. 1- Do I install the Bolt network as MOCA only and use the Roamio to access the network gateway. OR 2- Install the bolt network as MOCA and Ethernet that will open a separate gateway path from the Bolt to the Xfinity router. OR 3- just install Bolt network as Ethernet and use the Xfinity Router to access the Roamio (same as the current Series 3 HD). All rooms in my house are hardwired for Ethernet and coax, also all coax in the house is connected to a MOCA hub so no cable installation or alteration issues are involved. Just looking for the best way to put the bolt on the internet w/o conflicts. My strategy it to keep as much tivo-to-tivo video traffic as possible off the Ethernet so I'm leaning towards number 1 solution. Am I thinking correct about this ??

Option 1 should work and is the easiest way to get everything you want.

Option 2 will crash because the Roamio and Bolt will both try to bridge between MoCA and Ethernet. There can only be one bridge.

Since you want to keep tivo traffic confined to the MoCA network, option 1 is best.

Another option is to set up the Bolt as the MoCA bridge and configure the Roamio to connect through MoCA only (just unplug the ethernet cable). This would be an advantage if you have any other MoCA 2.0 devices, if your internet feed is more than about 150Mbps. If the Bolt is the only MoCA 2.0 device, it won't make any difference.

If you *really* want to confine all of your TiVo traffic to the MoCA network, you could get a WCB3000N MoCA adapter and plug your Series 3 HD into that.

Thanks for the response, I'll go w/option #1 Bolt connection to MoCA only. The Bolt is the only MoCA 2.0 device. My internet is 300 MB. I have been using the Series 3 as a limited Mini capacity to view Roamio recordings thru internet connection, it does not have a cable card. The Bolt will most likely retire it back into it's storage box.

Update.. all is good using MoCA on the Bolt with the Roamio performing the bridge work to the gateway. Ran a couple of days to make sure everything was OK, then threw in a 2 TB Toshiba drive.
