Bolt+ indicated recording but did not record CBS last night

Bolt+ indicated it was recording CBS last night but no CBS shows were recorded. I was attempting to watch NCIS that was recording on a Bolt+ with my Roamio Pro in a separate room. The Roamio Pro showed the red circle for a recording in progress but the timeline bar was stuck at zero. I do this all the time and never had a problem until now. Today NCIS, F.B.I., and NCIS New Orleans did not record on the Bolt+. I checked the recently deleted folder and the shows were not there. The Bolt+ did record other scheduled shows on different channels at the time.

Is this an indication of a bad tuner? I was only recording 2 of the 6 tuners at the time and trying to watch the Bolt+ with the Roamio Pro which would also use a tuner.

Anyone else experience any weird TiVo behavior like this recently?

Any way to verify all 6 tuners?

Everything you describe is typical of a TiVo simply not being able to tune in a signal on a particular channel. Most likely a problem with the source channel, but could just as easily be a lineup problem introduced by Bad_Rovi.

Did you check the History/Recording Activity?

I could watch the channel live on the Roamio Pro. So my thoughts are that this maybe a Bolt+ issue rather than a provider channel issue, unless its the channel on the TA / Cable Card in the Bolt+.

Thoughts?

That's tonight's investigation.... Thanks for the reminder.
Step 1 would be to set all the tuners to the same channel and then jump between them to verify all the tuners are working. This can be done by either booting the box while you are watching that channel, or just go into the signal strength screen while watching that channel.

With all the tuners on CBS, check the system diagnostics to verify that they all show the same signal strength and SNR.

If all the tuners are working, then I would think you will need to actively catch that box while it is supposed to be recording that channel and verify it is showing a picture.

Here's what I found and did to solve my problem even though I still not sure what caused the tuner to lose tune.

Bolt+ History said "channel unavailable". So 3 schedule shows did not record.
Manually selecting that channel showed V52 error.
Used TiVo remote to select Live TV button to cycle through all 6 tuners. Still had V52 error on that one channel.
Then used Live TV to cycle though all 6 tuners, selecting different stations at each stop. I had to do this 3 times then the channel started working again.
All recording worked ok last night.

Final thoughts: Not sure what fixed the Bolt+ but it's working normally again. Restarting the box may have had the same effect but did not need to do that. Lastly, this Bolt+ has a Mini associated so the Mini, ver A93, may have locked the channel but I did not fiddle with the Mini to get things working again.
Sometimes when a show was shown as recording, but does not show up in my shows, reboot the TiVo and the missing show will magically appear in my shows.
