I watched this over the weekend. I have to admit, the stupid trailer pulled me in (for anyone who hasn't seen the trailer, it's basically 30 seconds of black screen saying "We want to tell you about this movie, but we'll get sued if we do."

I'd give this thing a thumbs up. I was worried that it might destroy my view of Bob Ross, but it didn't. In fact, I think it elevated my view of him. Yes, he wasn't perfect--he had an affair, he made some bad business decisions. But it made him human.

In the end, it was just sad to learn about how his work, name, and image were almost stolen from him and his son. It did make me realize that I no longer want to buy things with his likeness on them; the merch represents things that he would have been against.

We watched it. I was a huge fan of Bob and his style of art. I tried so hard to be able to paint like him but I don't really have an artistic bone in my body. I had seen another story about the Kowalski's and how they were preserving his legacy. After that one I thought they were in it for the right reasons. Now I realize that they were not. Its a shame that someone who only wanted to bring joy and art to the masses is being exploited now that he is gone.
