Black Side Bar

I have a Tivo Series 2.

I noticed about a month ago that my tivo is outputing my cable channels with a black bar on the left side of the sceen, there is a 1/2 in thick black bar running along the side of the screen.

My screen is a HD Panasonic plasma and the Tivo is connected to my receiver which sends all my video inputs to the TV.
The Tivo menu is displayed without the black bar and one channel, 96 which is a closed circuit monitoring of my condo building is fully displayed.

Is this a problem with the Tivo Tuner? I've changed the settings on the Tivo from 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio and the black bar is still displayed.

In addition to Tivo I have OTA HD and a HD Digital Cable DVR hooked up in my system.

The black bar is the least of your problems, go get rid of that Plasma, before it's too late! Plasma TVs have a half-life of 2 years. That means that in 2 years, it will only be half as bright as before, 4 years - a quarter as bright as it used to be.

I'm sorry but that's just not true.

Geez, I hate seeing this misinformation. Plasmas are in their 7th-8th generation and no longer have problems with this. Half-lifes are usually anywhere from 40,000 to 60,000 hours--equal to (in some cases exceeding) those of CRTs. Please do not spread misinformation, buying an HDTV is confusing enough as it is!!

I do believe you have set a record for the most off the wall, confusing posts, in such a short period. You must be proud.
Anyone know why I have this black bar on the side of my picture when watching cable through Tivo?

BTW, I noticed this 2 months ago after I setup a Mot 6412. I normally sit about 14ft away from the TV and never noticed the black bar. I have a Panny Px50U with a black bezel and I've had it since May 05. I've had Tivo for about 2 yrs.
