Tell me they did NOT show Sarah inject herself with a drug thru her bionic arm.

You know, one of her TWO bionic arms?

Tell me she also didn't draw up a small amount of blood thru the hypo.

From the bionic arm.

Bionic arms with blood.

Bionic arms that can be used to get drugs into your bloodstream.

Ooooh. Impresssive.

Bah.

I've lost all respect for the show.

Seriously.

This was a mindless goof that shows TOTAL carelessness.

Is that necessarily a goof? Are the bionic limbs necessarily completely mechanical rather than biomechanical??

Yeah, when she was pounding the wall she left blood behind. I'm guessing that was deliberate.
I'm just thinking back to the pilot where we saw the legs in that shimmering/ translucent state with the nanobots (or whatever they were called) working their magic (like on the facial cut).

I seem to recall there being some discussion about 'implants' where the implants specifically mentioned (and questioned as to whether they had come online yet or not) were the ear and eye, so I assume we (viewers) are supposed to believe that the rest of the bionic enhancements are biomechanical or mechanically enhanced through some magic done by the nanobots.

Or, maybe we're supposed to think the limbs were regenerated by the nanobots somehow (similar to Claire on Heroes, but I don't want to add any direct spoilers about that show here).

and why don't people go flying every time they get kicked or punched w/ a bionic part ? The bionic-ness comes and goes. Training fight ? She's just like normal. Usual baddie fights ? Sometimes they fly, sometimes they don't. Fight w/ Sara ? It's like Superman vs. Bizarro Superman.

Season pass DELETED.

Actually, I really liked this episode. I agree, the "bionicness" seems to come and go (I want to see people flying around from punches and kicks EVERY time), but I feel like they covered a lot of ground in this episode and I was glued to my seat the entire time.

I definitely think that the bionics this time are integrated with human tissue, so there would be blood. These are not the 70's bionics where body parts were 100% mechanical.

"Is she a lesbian?" was a hilarious line!!!!!!!!

SP quite safe with me. ;)

Maybe the coach activates an inhibitor so he doesn't get killed.

I thought the Sarah's storyline had a bit of a "Blade Runner" feel to it.

+1

Also she seemed to be holding back during training. Until what's-his-name started attacking her with crow-bar; THEN she got bionic on his butt, and he went flying. Remember, she's pretty much a novice when it comes to fighting.

And maybe it's like normal limbs, she has to concentrate or have adrenaline running through her system to access the full enhanced of her limbs. Do we know how strong those limbs are in comparison to normal?

The guys after the Canadian girl certainly went flying.

I really liked this episode too... much better than the first couple.

I seem to recall that Jamie was told her legs and right arm had to be REPLACED.

Seems to me if they could make a flesh and blood arm bionic in some way, they'd have done that to Jamie as well....IF they'd been able to do it with Sarah.

Sarah, tho', seems to delight in the fact that only one of Jamie's arms is bionic. She keeps mentioning it.

If it's possible for an arm to be flesh and blood and still be bionic, why wouldln't they have done that to Jamie's left arm? This is why the thing with Sarah, the needle, and the blood makes no sense.

If it's not broken, don't fix it?

I think the real problem is that we have never really been given a thorough explanation of the bionics. The pilot episode was so rushed that it's almost as if the writers assume we know what was done, which causes a lot of confusion because people will rely on their previous knowledge of bionics, courtesy of the 70's series. Back then, they definitely did not bleed.

I have faith in the production team though. I am going to assume that they do bleed, since they show us the injection into a bionic arm and the blood, as well as Sarah bleeding when she punched the wall. I also recall the doctor in the pilot saying something about real human tissue when he was "explaining" what he did to Jamie. And yes, he did say replaced.

I agree, it would be a huge blunder if the bionics were 100% mechanical. I think the writers believe that they have explained themselves and their "rules" to us as viewers and that we understand. They are mistaken.

I'm with atrac on this one, but alternately it could be that you've got it backwards...that when Sarah was "remodeled," they HAD to use modified human tissue, but by the time Jaimie came along they were able to do purely artificial parts.

It's more likely, however, that the process simply involves a blend of human and mechanical, and always has. That would make it more "realistic" (cough) that the parts could both integrate fully with the rest of the body, and do the super-human things they do.

I swear the "sting" when Jamie turned to look out the window after Sarah jumped onto her balcony was a riff on the old bionic noise. But maybe I just wanted it to be.

In the pilot, didn't we find out that one arm had been replaced (by the government agency) but the other she did herself? I remember, at the time, thinking -- She cut off and replaced her own arm? My guess is the one she did herself is not a replacement limb but, as had been suggested, her own arm, enhanced with the nano-thingies.

Any series 3 owners have problem with the 5.1 digital audio on this program? The audio track was Dolby Digital but I couldn't understand 1/2 the scenes because the music sound track volume totally drowned out the dialog. Has anyone seen this problem before. ABC was fine but NBC was unwatchable. The commercials during the Bionic Women were fine but the show it self had problems.

My impression from the pilot was that her limbs were amputated and replaced with bionics, and then the nanobots (anthracites?) covered the bionics with regenerated skin tissue so they would look normal.

I suppose the bionics could have some sort of conduit implanted just below the skin to conduct injected substances into the non-bionic bloodsatream, but I can't think of any logical reason to do that.

If they guy who is supposed to be helping Sarah is named Anthros, maybe they are anthros-cites. ;)

It makes it easier for an enemy to inject you with a drug and knock you out.

If your arm was totally artificial, they'd inject you all day long and at worst THEY might get a shock. :D
