Is there a way to watch this thru TiVo? Otherwise, I guess I can watch on my laptop and use my Chromecast to put it on my TV. Or just plug my laptops HDMI out into my AVR. I guess there's a CBS app that might run on Android phone or tablet? (but they are ancient (5.1.1 and 4.4.4 respectively)).

I might binge Picard and Discovery. The latter sounds more interesting. I don't have any premium streaming subscriptions, so this would be a nice addition.

You will enjoy Discovery. First year has Jason Isaacs who is great in everything including The OA on Netflix. 2nd year you get Anson Mount as Capt Beep Boop. (cant believe I forgot his name. Its Star Trek---its great.

I've never bothered with TiVo.

CBS | All Access Support lists the supported devices. Apparently, 1st gen Chromecasts aren't supported. Not sure if they're referring to both versions that looked like USB flashes drives (there were actually two versions) before the two round ones followed.

My normal means of watching it is via my Roku 3. I just tried with 1st version of round Chromecast and found that the audio is stereo only. :( I can get 5.1 sound on my Roku 3 with CBS All Access. I also have an Apple TV 4K but I rarely use it.

CBS | All Access Support says what you want to try w/Chromecast should work as long it's at least a "2nd gen". Usually, the 1st round one (middle one at https://www.howtogeek.com/438642/how-to-check-if-your-chromecast-is-still-getting-updates/) is considered to be "2nd gen".

The CBS offers don't work through Amazon Prime.

Well, yes and no. I think you can now get the 30-day free through Amazon Prime too, even without a special code.

I signed up for the 30 day trial on CBS (not using Prime), and started watching using the CBS app on my Samsung TV. But after a few days, that app stopped loading, so I went to Prime to see if I could watch it there. The short answer was NO, I could not sign into the Prime channel with a normal CBS subscription. But while I was there, I did notice that the Prime CBS channel was offering me a new 30 free trial if I signed up there. So if the Amazon app is your only option, I think you are still in luck. (And the Prime menu WAS showing Picard as an available show for me, but I did not sign up again to test it)

BTW - I completed watching two painful seasons of Discovery, and that series REALLY STUNK! It gets worse and worse with each episode (and I like ALL of the other Star Trek series, so my disgust is very specific to Discovery). I am sure glad I refused to pay their stupid subscription prices when they started that. I have just begun to watch Picard, so have to reserve my opinion on that one. I am really looking forward to cancelling this subscription just to show them it ain't worth the price.

I though Star Trek Discovery was great, even though I don't like how they make the Klingons look. But Picard, that one really sucks.

Discovery was so horribly bad, I would not watch another episode of that garbage even if they put it on free OTA.

I completed watching Picard, and I thought it was very good. I enjoyed virtually every episode, and there were far fewer inconsistencies and logic faults than the other series (but still some really stupid ideas). However, I thought the season wrapped up just fine at the end, and I see no reason to either expect or want to watch any more with those very old actors. If it wasn't for the close tie-in to so much of the old TNG story, I would not have found it interesting at all.

My wife and I enjoyed both Discovery and Picard. Can't wait for season 3 of Discovery.
