I think, in a sense, it was pride. Earlier, she had tried to withdraw on the grounds that there was a potential conflict of interest, but the client wouldn't let her. Now, she was being taken off because of misconduct, and her pride just couldn't take it. So she Jimmy'd her way out of being taken off the case.
No matter how hard she tries, she's really turning into Kimmy. I still think that's their end game for getting her out of the show (and thus Jimmy/Saul's life) before it hits Breaking Bad...it sinks in what she's turning into, and she can't take it.
