The episode opens concluding Saul and Mike's trip out of the desert concluding at a truckstop
where they buy some new clothes while waiting for a ride. (but apparently this truckstop doesn't have showers). Breaking Bad fans were reminded of the crazy shirts Mike bought Jesse and Walt in 'razor'.

Saul takes the money to bail out lalo. Posting such a large amount of cash causes the prosecutor to come by, and is very suspicious. They also had a guard in the office as the cash is counted.
I dont believe we saw how much cash Saul was left with after losing some to the ripped bag.

Saul has a good amount of PTSD. He loses a case so bad even the DA he normally humiliates, is ragging on him.

Lalso is taken by nacho back to the same money dropoff site, and realizes that something doesn't add up. Saul said his car was broken down. Yet, no car was spotted. So he finds Saul's car in the revine, does a crazy jump down, and sees the bullet holes. He returns to ABQ, to confront saul. Saul is lucky Lalo didn't then find the truck stop to get camera footage, and see Saul and Mike together.

The scene in the apartment was incredibly tense. I expect everyone expect kim to not survive.

And then an epic speech for Kim.
"if you dont trust your men with your money
you've got bigger problems then whether you can trust saul goodman"

I expected Lalo to give his trademark smile and some grudging respect. But instead he just walked out. He instructed Nacho to drive him to mexico, not just to the dropoff point.

The past three episodes have been awesome.

I think Kim was way overboard and lucky he didn't just kill them both, or attempt to before Mike shot his head off and made a complete mess of the place. Yes, she should have stepped in and said "are you joking me?" and the part about people shooting up anything, which let's face it, was a very true fact. It would make absolute logical sense for him to have actually broken down and walked, and then later kids shooting up the car and pushing into the ravine. Of course, we know that's not what happened, but if you didn't, that would be the most logical events.

Gus not letting Nacho out really pisses me off. Not that I expected anything less from him. Every time I start to warm to him just a tad, I remember that he cut his own loyal man's throat in front of Walt and Jesse just to prove a point. He's a monster. Nacho is not making it out of this alive. I feel he'll sacrifice himself to save his dad.

I almost think that Kim is alive in BB universe and we just don't see her. I don't think she's disappeared by way of vacuum man either. Jimmy loves her too deeply to be the casual person he is in BB if she's dead or he loses her. I could be wrong but it's just a gut feeling I have after this episode. I'm going to need a rewatch.

Also they did such a great job on showing Jimmy looking beat up and burnt by the sun that I couldn't stop focusing on his crusty chapped lips every time they showed him! :D

Also also waiting on another appearance by my mans Hank and Gommie! Surely that's not all we see of them!

Yeah, looks like Kim has started her way out by resigning to do pro-bono work exclusively, so i think we'll see he move to Nebraska where Saul will see her again.
It's pretty clear to me that Gene lives a very solitary, lonely, unhappy life in Nebraska. He really has nothing there. If Kim were there (even unseen), I think Gene would be a very different person. Also, I still contend that Saul/Kim don't know the vacuum guy yet and can't afford him either. I don't see Gus paying for Kim's dust filter.

Rather, I think Kim is taking a trip to Belize during the BB era.

Yes, that's what we've seen so far (not many FF's this season). Jimmy Gene wouldn't contact Kim in Nebraska even if he knew she was there, but that doesn't mean their paths haven't crossed yet.
I don't see Gilligan killing her off.

Really? Seems like more. Shows how good they are.
Interesting parallel between this season's "Gene Scene" and last night's episode.
Jeff, the cab driver, all smiley and charming while still being intimidating. He won't leave until Gene "says it ('Better Call Saul')."
Gene knows he's been made, and calls Vacuum Repair Guy to escape. Then, he remembers this incident in his living room (?), and has a change of heart - "I'll handle it myself."

I'm starting to think Lalo may still be alive in this universe, and perhaps even stepped into the vacuum created by Gus's killing the entire cartel. Maybe his long drive with Ignacio is to go into hiding - he at least figured out that the Fring-Bolsa wing of the cartel has too much weight for him to have much influence with Don Eladio.
Lalo was the guy Saul feared when Walt and Jesse first hired him. Maybe Jeff even works for "Don Lalo."

If you've ever driven through the southwest then you would notice that pretty much every road sign out in the boonies is riddled with bullet holes so Kim's premise holds a lot of water.
I was saying that to my wife even before Kim said it.

Yeah, that was my comment as well. My experience growing up in AZ is that if a dead car was in a ditch for a day, it would probably already have two or three bullet holes in it.

IIRC, they only do a FF at the very beginning of each season. Hard to believe there have only been 5 Gene Tacovic scenes.
They only have done the Gene Black-and-White Post-BB FFs at the beginning of the season.

There was also a full color BB-era FF with Saul halfway through S4 showing him fleeing town.

Well, it WOULD hold a lot of water. If not for all the bullet holes.

Actually this episode changed my mind on that. We see Jimmy having real trouble with PTSD and he has to go to Dr. Mike to get therapy about how to deal with it. So I think we'll see Jimmy really turn into Saul when he learns how to compartmentalize his feelings and focus on making money. Unfortunately, that's coming sooner than later, and I fear that something bad happening to Kim will be the final straw that pushes him fully into Saul territory.
