Being Human - Season 2 Thread

I finally got around to watching this. Between my wife being pregnant, baby classes, been working over time, and car issues this week I'm way behind on TV.

Since I see no one made a thread for the premiere, I'll just make a season thread. In my opinion season 1 started off a little slow, but half way through it became really awesome as the cast seem to fit their characters better.

When Sally was ranting to the ghost of her high school's popular girl and mentioned that life was so easy for her, I totally called that the door would appear. This show loves to keep the main cast as depressed as possible, so it would only be fitting for her to see someone who had life so easy to experience afterlife the same way.

I like Josh better when he's trying to be hopeful and happy, now that his girlfriend is living with him they both seem so unhappy, kind of bumming me out.

Aiden, as usual is knee deep in vampire drama. Now he's got vampire momma drama. Mom's got some claws by the way. :D

I'm so glad I'm not the only one watching this show! I just discovered it a few weeks ago when they did a marathon of the 13 eps of S01. I watched them all in two days! I usually don't go for the vampire-type stuff and usually find it more suitable for people younger than I. Well, I got hooked - big time!

Haven't watched S02, E01 yet, but it's waiting for me and I'll probably watch it tonight. What a great show!
I TiVo'd this and just watched it tonight. Thanks for starting a thread!

Interesting that Josh now has a packmate. His own betch as it were. I have to rewatch the whole vampire high council stuff but I loved the high school reunion scenes.

This is one that I had forgotten was coming on and my season pass grabbed it. Thank you TiVo!
Arghhh missed the premiere... off to check out when it repeats
This is a fantastic show. I wish the audio was done better. They have a habit of putting music over the dialog and you have to turn the TV up really loud just to make out what theyre saying.

For anyone that watches the UK version, without a lot of spoliers, how close are the stories following each other? I know that there was some differences in season one but how about now?
I liked this last episode. Pleasantly surprised to see Dichen Lachman in what appears to be a regular, recurring role. I haven't seen her since Dollhouse.

I liked the scenes with Sally going crazy at the party in the new host body. In general, I like how the story is progressing, in that they went all the way and made Nora a werewolf, instead of wimping out. Cool that she can see the ghosts now, too.

The guy turning his girlfriend into a werewolf is the same. Don't remember her killing a vampire in the UK version. The girlfriend became a pretty big part of the show after turning into a werewolf. We will see if the same is true for the US version.

The ghost's story seems to being told about the same. She's trying to become more human. Meeting other ghosts and learning new tricks and such.

Aidan seems to have been made the kinda boss after Bishop got killed. I don't remember the vampire guy in the UK version being made into anything special. Maybe he did and I don't remember. Definitely don't remember a mom vampire showing up and digging up her daughter to lead.

I remember the last season of the UK version fairly well, but not so much the earlier stuff. The UK show is really good. I recommend watching it. I see it is on Netflix streaming. I do seem to remember that the actor that played the vampire left the show. I think he's in the Hobbit movie or something. I'm not even sure if the show is coming back for another season. Off to do some research.

I found that series 4 is coming to the UK this year. Looks like it is going to be quite different. Looks like more than just the actor that played the vampire is leaving the show.
I'm on the fence with the show, I think what is starting to bother me is that the show is becoming Grey's Anatomy with supernatural characters. It's the whining and complaining that all the characters seem to do that bothers me.

I get that it is supposed to be about the struggle to reclaim humanity when it has been taken from you, but there is a lot more to being human than suffering alone. Are they all Catholic?
I see what you're saying Ozzman (lmao @ the catholic reference) but I really like these characters. Maybe it was the total immersion of watching the entirety of season one in two days.

I saw the 'girlfriend becoming a wolf' thing from a mile away. Kind of adds a cool dimension to everything. HOWEVER, I did feel it was a bit (understatement) of a stretch when she was so easily accepting of the fact that he was a wolf. Really? I'm not sure I could be so quick to accept and move on from that. Does that mean that I'm a bad person? :D
The UK version often uses humor in scenes to lighten the mood. The US version is unrelenting miserable people being miserable.

That's funny I would have said it was the other way around.

Both series started off great and BOTH series get increasingly more annoying.
I stopped watching the UK series after series 3 and I stopped watching the US version 2 weeks ago.
I've been thinking about stopping too but now I want to see if Sally becomes a reaper.
Weird, I've really been enjoying this season of the US version. Especially the last 2 episodes. The ghost and the reaper has been interesting. The whole thing with the werewolf's girlfriend liking that she's a werewolf and what happened with the twins. The vampire story hasn't been super interesting, but Monday nights was cool with what happened to the young vampires in the basement of that house.

I watched the first 3 episodes of season 4 of the UK version. That show is officially awful. I didn't like season 3 nearly as much as the first 2 seasons, but this 4th season is just crap.

This is pretty much how I feel. The vampire story has had me just FF clicking thru it. Skimming so I know what's happening but not really watching. I did enjoy the guy asking for fifty bucks for the invitation to enter his house. Sorry to see Stevie go, before realizing he was killing the ghosts, he was a cute addition to the story.
After S1 of the US version, I canceled the SP. But, upon reading about this season's storylines and some comments in these threads, I began watching again and think this season is better than last...
And so the student has surpassed the master.

It's amazing how much the US version has improved, becoming much darker and more interesting, while the UK version has gotten kind of, well, goofy.

I was just thinking of how dumb the UK version has become this season. I really enjoyed seasons 1-3, but this season is destroying a lot of the conventions setup in the previous seasons.

Case #1: It was clearly established in season 2 that werewolf transformation was triggered by atmospheric pressure, which changes with moon phases. Now, it seems that simply looking at a picture of a full moon will trigger a transformation. WHAAAAAAAATTT????

Case #2: Both the NA and UK series have used the "must be invited in" requirement of vampire lore this season. In the UK version, it appears that some powerful vampires can ignore this without consequence. Also, it seems that any previously invited vampire can invite other vampires in, no problem. The NA series established that simply changing ownership of a building means instant immolation for any vampire currently inside.

There are a lot more inconsistencies in the UK version worth mentioning, but I guess it should be worthy of its own thread. :p

Season 2 of the NA version is much better that last season. It's cool that they have established their own storyline and not just rehashes of the UK version.

Just finished Dream Reaper, that was kind of trippy. Sally is totally crazy, Aiden hemorraged a whole lot of blood after taking a few sips from Josh, and I was beginning to think Josh would actually have to turn in the fridge which would suck for him since he's the only 1 of the 3 that uses the fridge.

Okay, I'll give you all that, BUT they are really trying to do SOMETHING with what's left of the show, given that three of the four principle actors have left. What they should have done is cancelled the thing, but barring that...
