I would say this is the worst case possible. Sam pretends to be a dumb jack ass for most of the show. When it is on the line he suddenly turns into smart sam. He is so over the top as jack ass sam it is not even funny. No wonder he is on this show because he can't act for **** way over the top. We all know who the real sam is it the guy who did the rebuttle and made the others look stupid. You could see him switching off the act and being himself his body language and voice changed. The guy is stealing the spotlight from the geeks. For those who don't think sam is not a ringer I have a bridge to sell you. The one geek had that great line from comic book guy worst challenge ever.

It sucks that couple that needed the show the most were booted.

FOUL!

Club promoter my butt!
On second, thought, the guy can't act his way out of wet paper bag, so I guess he has to make a living some other way

The only reason for me to continue watching is to see how badly they keep up the charade.
Amanda was hot. IMHO, the best looking, most attractive of the bunch.

I'll miss seeing her.

Remembering one fact, prompted by a fact cited by the other person constitutes being a "smart guy?" Please. He didn't win that challenge. The other beauties lost it. The only one who constructed anything resembling a coherent sentence, let alone an argument, was the Beauty on the other side of the argument with the Beast.

It was more than remembering one fact. It was the change in personality he went from surfer dude to a normal person. Look at his first argument for gods sake "I partied with a lot of 18-21 year olds". No one could go from that to his masterfull rebuttle unless it was an act. If he would of recited his facts with the surfer dude act complete with posing during his first argument then I might agree with you. It was the change of voice and body language that made it clear he turned off his act and became himself for 30 seconds. He stole his act from Will Ferrell's character frank the tank in old school during the debate.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :( :( :(

The hottest girl just got knocked out...I loved her smile... and the rest of her wasnt too bad either... :D :D :D

Hopefully Hef will help her life goal come true and put her in playboy... :D

Dont know how much longer I can watch the show now
Yeah, the sudden change in body language raised a red flag for me too. Not sure if he's really smart, per se, but I'm suspicious.

As mentioned, it's a total shame that the geek who needed to be there the most got bounced. There have been some 'interesting' folks on Beauty and the Geek, but I think Tony's 'shield' reached new heights. It was really sad to see him apologize to Amanda when they were studying for the elimination room.
I guess I didn't see such a sudden change in body language. He was "posing" earlier, when he was spouting drivel. His body language calmed when his memory was jogged by his debate opponent. That's a pretty common reaction.
I didn't see the change in body language either. He simply had something to say and that gives you confidence to simply speak, rather than the posing he was doing when he was searching for words.

I'm bummed that my favorite Beauty was the first one to go. I also really liked Tony and would have liked to see him open up and gain some confidence. I've always said that this show defeats its own purpose by having eliminations. They should keep everyone around the whole time, but give out prizes each episode for those who do well.

I asked a question in the other thread that I'll ask here. Would anyone watch a show that had the roles reversed? I thought maybe women might like to watch hot guys, but the first thing my wife said when Sam came on the screen was "Ewwww!" He's just obnoxious and cocky, and while some women might be attracted to that, most aren't.

I'm totally with your wife. Sam has a nice body, but his face is scary. His eyebrows are overplucked, his iris to sclera ratio is too small, and he's so freakin' shiny.

I don't think I'd watch a show where the roles are reversed. Its fun for the average woman to watch the current configuration because the beauties are dumb as rocks, so we can at least feel superior to them even if we don't look as good.
Besides the actor guy, my biggest problem (which has been consistent for 4 seasons) is the inequity in questions. Name 3 presidents, how many stars .. WHAT DOES OPEC STAND FOR? I'm a hell of a lot closer to a geek than a beauty, and I don't know that.
seriously? You can't name three recent presidents that don't have the last name Bush?

How old are you?

I'm fairly certain that the questions in the elimination room are pulled, perhaps almost verbatim, from the study materials that the teams are given (usual a book or a collection of magazines). So while it might be unfair if the teams were tested 'cold,' I don't think that's the case.

Why were the hip-hop questions so ill! How many times did 50 get shot? Arggh. That ain't hip-hop! :)

I knew the answer, largely thanks to Chris Rock.

:D

I'm 37. How good is your reading comprehension? I said that the OPEC question was much harder than the other two.

See, I would completely disagree with you on that. First, remember that they had study materials to work from. Second, the OPEC question was the only one that had a hint implicit in the question. The first letter of each word of the answer is there in the acronym.

I've known the answer to what OPEC stands for since I was in about 7th grade.
Yes but study materials aside, you may have known what OPEC stood for the in 7th grade, but my 5 year old knows how many stars are on the flag. I'm talking a matter of comparison here.
So, should I watch/keep my SP or not? I've watched portions of the other seasons and have enjoyed it, but something always comes along and I miss some eps (other tivo priorities, I guess!)... not sure if I want to start on this season or not.

I think there's a certain TCF-specific term named after him that has something to do with his lack of reading comprehension. Hmm, can't think of it right now. What could it be?

;)

his post has three questions in it. He said that he didn't know the answers to them.

I read just fine.
