No thread yet? Doesn't anyone watch this show anymore?

I thought it was ridiculous at the beginning how much drama Nicole was making out of the Sam/Rebecca hook up. She was afraid of what people would think of her and how she'd been disrespected. How did that have anything to do with you or reflect poorly on you at all? Get over it.

However, she totally redeemed herself by tricking Sam into selecting William and Jenn to go against Rebecca and Will in the elimination room. Glad to see Will get the boot. He was incredibly annoying. Rebecca was nice to look at, but her tryst with Sam was a big distraction to everyone. Now we'll have to see what it's like with her gone. Maybe Sam will hook up with another one, or maybe the competition will be more like the old seasons now.

Well, that inferiority complex and almost pathological need to avoid confrontation is exactly what qualifies Nicole as a geek. But she played Sam like a fiddle. I have to admit that I relished listening to the now-eliminated Rebecca talking in her exit interview about how she just didn't understand how Sam could put them up against such a tough opponent, and maybe he was just playing her all along. :D

Will was annoying, but unfortunately the Sam/Rebecca thing got in the way of Will having the opportunity to work on his primary geekiness issue. As he admitted, his problem is that he has a too big/obnoxious personality - you could see it with the Poe reading he thought he was gracing everyone with. If Rebecca hadn't been off canoodling with Sam, she might have helped Will understand that he was being obnoxious and overbearing. Given their mutual lack of growth, Will and Rebecca's departure was pretty much ideal.

I was glad to see the ubergeek get some positive reinforcement for his effort in learning to give a massage, and his teammate's genuine appreciation of what he'd accomplished.

Now, it's time for the rest to get rid of Sam and Nicole, and get on with the game. :)

I was sad to see Rebecca go from a hotness standpoint but she needed to go due to her affair with Sam.
Sam needs to go also unless he starts helping out his teammate quick!

This season is pretty good overall.

My favorite part was when William got super-gassed about beating the alpha team and declaring he and Jen the new top dogs. Jen told him to not get cocky. :D

Though I'm in the minority, I can understand why Nicole was upset since she and Sam specifically had a conversation about 'guests' and how she'd gladly sleep elsewhere if Sam would just let her know. It is an issue of respect, especially with a girl. My female friends have mentioned it as being important between girls, at least. As a dude, I don't think I get it, but whatever.

I can't really blame Sam for thinking with the wrong head though, because Rebecca is smoking!

Looking forward to next week...

I hate the Sam twist this year because it ruined for me what was the most interesting part of the game, and that is how, in a right situation a "beauty" could actually be attracted to a geek. All this did was pretty much prove that a "beauty" like Rebecca would only be attracted to a hot guy with muscles like Sam. What it DOES prove is that beautiful women like that are just as superficial as men when it comes to looks. And what does it prove that a hot guy like Sam is attracted to ANOTHER beauty? For him this must have been like Christmas or his birthday, locked in a house with a bunch of hot girls and not very attractive guys. No competition for a guy like him.

But maybe that was the show's point this year? But it does retard the "geeks" ability to improve with the opposite sex.

Could have been a strategy (i.e. vote for the 'worst massage' making sure that the best massage didn't win the challenge). This is what might have created the 'closeness' of the results overall.

The problem for me is that while Sam is a "beauty", he's not so far away from the "geek" side. Or at least he does have an analytical side, where the women on the show don't. He probably learned how to build a rocket as a kid with his dad. It seemed like the women were at a serious disadvantage in this challenge.

Some of the things that are considered "geeky" are actually more "male" tasks then geeky tasks. The rocket task definitely fits that catagory.
