I was surprised when season 2's first episode showed up in my tivo's queue. I watched it and was extremely disappointed to see Beth was still around. Ruby Rose screwed the show with her sudden departure. I expected the season 2 premiere to be clunky as they introduced a new Batwoman and it was. I expect the show to get somewhat better but someone becoming Batwoman simply because she found the suit doesn't make all that much sense but it is based on a comic book after all.

I'll give it a chance but they really need to get rid of Beth soon and get a new Big Bad if I'm going to last.

Agreed Alice has more than overstayed her welcome and she had little reason to be anymore with Kate dead and daddy knowing now that Kate was Batwoman.

However, they did indicate that Safiyah was responsible for Kate being dead. I would guess that is the new big bad.

A lot of what happened in that one episode could better have been developed over a number of episodes, or even a whole season, to set things up better.

Yeah, they kinda got screwed.

Alice is #2 in the credits, so I have a sad feeling she isn't going anywhere any time soon...

They needed to squish it down. I had a concern that they would be derailed for weeks on the lead change. It's clunky but it gets us going again.

I'd assume Rachel Skarsten is under contract and that contract dictates her billing. I doubt it says how much screen time she gets or how her character is used. Alice may wind up on the good guy side as the new big bad is supposed to be a rival.

I like Ryan better than Kate. Could be that Javicia Leslie is a better actress, but sample size is small. Interested enough to continue watching.

Does Batwoman now have use of the Batmobile instead of a motorcycle? I hope so.

Really thought it was a mistake to introduce a new character (nothing against Javica Leslie) as opposed to simply recasting the role, especially with all the character setup they did last season before the season debuted.

I'm still of that opinion.
Maybe they could have gotten Rachel Skarsten to do double duty for a while.

No point in creating a new thread for the maybe on other person besides me who is still watching. Actually, even I wasn't watching season 3. It had backed up six episodes before I started watching last week. I've absolutely despised the Alice character. She was the bad guy of the week who never went away. I hated her for two seasons. So imagine my surprise while watching these six episodes that I've actually come to like and enjoy her character. They've basically made Alice the comic relief for the season and the actress Rachel Skarsten pulls it off really well. Alice is basically a fun to watch character now. I would never have thought that could happen.

This might be my male chauvinism showing but I think the new Batwoman Javicia Leslie is downright beautiful.
