#5.04 "Blood, Sweat, and Gears"
This past Thursday, December 24th, I noticed that the TiVo was not recording the episode as scheduled! I was able to grab the midnight repeat of the show that same night, but it got put into a new folder. Looking at my box's history, something changed with a guide update that afternoon which removed the scheduled episode and replaced it with a different ID (i suspect). Going forward, keep an eye on this one (but it looks to be preempted this coming Thursday for New Year's Eve filler).

and last week's episode had the wrong ep #. Basically they're all messed up.

(But I still have a couple of eps of "battlebots on science" and I'm not sure if that was an entirely different series or what -- the names don't match up with the epguides.com listing for 2015 Battlebots)

The Science channel repackages BattleBots with extra content, maybe more of the fights that don't get coverage on the Discovery main show. This is my remote understanding of the situation, as i do not get the SCI channel on my cable plan. I would consider it to be a separate series which runs parallel to the original.

Unfortunately for purists, the listings at Futon Critic have stopped showing the episode titles of what airs on SCI this season, and never did separate the two channels in the past -- nor did they correct for the network name in the current URL.

yeah I used to get SCI years ago.. I guess I'll probably just watch them and skim through if I have seen it before.. with even the 'regular' airings having such messed up ep #s, it's hard to keep track (if you're a completist like I try to be).

Last season each Science channel airing had one extra fight in it.

This year, I have not noticed any extra fights in the Science channel airings. They seem to be identical to the Discovery channel airings.
My eps are older than that.

These are the eps I have in "BattleBots on Science" folder
Mega Figths: Heavyweight Throw...
One Bot Rules them all: The Cham...
The great 8: QuarterFinals

I have "BattleBots" recorded from Science -- all by its lonesome in now playing
Mega Fights: Blood, Sweat, and Gears

these ones I can tell what they are
and in my Battlebots folder:
One Shining Bot: The championship
g48 expectations: The quarterfinals
qualifiers
gr8 expectations: the quarterfinals/championships -- this was on ABC, just the first two in this group repeated on ABC I think..

So I think basically I have a couple different versions of the S2 last couple of episodes and a few other random eps..

Oh, the guide data for Battlebots is nine kinds of screwed up. Even confined the current season, it's a mess. If you include past seasons, we have any number of Season 1's, Season 2's, and Season 5's from Discovery, Science, et al, all jumbled together with borderline random season ID's.

Your only choices are a ARWL for the word BattleBots, or prayer.

well when this new season started up, I finally decided to 'catch up' with the stuff I had recorded previously (at least the parts that I didn't lose a year or two ago when I lost a bunch of recordings when trying to transfer a show back to my TiVo -- due to a ffmpeg bug that overestimated size of the show apparently)...

and I was able to use the epguides.com listing for most of my recordings to figure out which order to watch my episodes in.. (sorting by date was a good first start but I still had a few recorded on later airings IIRC)..

I still think Tivo is the way to go as I said in that other thread.. but the old guide data from the previous company was better _overall_.. A very few things are better nowadays (the one example that comes to mind is my pilot/premiere auto recording wishlist seems to catch more shows than it did a few years ago).
