bash prompt over serial

Hello,

I have a bit of a problem. A hack that I applied seems to have knocked out my cachecard. I believe it made changes to the rc.sysinit.author file. Fortunately, I believe it has made a copy of that file. But I am unable to get to it.:(

I followed the instructions on weethet and I got the menu and I get the bash prompt once the machine is booted. However, it doesn't echo back my commands and the word wrapping is all wrong. Also, once I type in a few commands the connection locks up entirely and I can't get any output.

I am using Linux to connect. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good terminal emulator that works along with the appropriate settings?

That worked a treat. In the end, I had to rerun the nic_config_tivo again. But I am now on the net. T'anks:up:
