Not too bad. The taser bit made for some funny sight gags and such, and Fred Willard had some pretty funny lines too.

And oh, yeah, there's the Weather Girl character :D

You liked it? I made it about halfway through before giving up. Just not funny. SP deleted.
Perhaps my tolerance is low, or my expectations not that high, but I haven't found it to be that bad so far, plus it benefits from not being scheduled opposite anything else that I really want to see.

'til Death, a show I had a lot more hope for going into last season is a different story. It started out ok at best and went downhill very quickly. The new season for it started pretty horribly, especially when compared to just about anything else on the schedule.

Anyway, Back to You is predictable sitcom fare, but I like it. At least enough to keep watching until something better comes along in the time slot.

Hmmm.... I wonder how long I give a program to gain traction...

Two episodes seems to be a bit harsh to give up...so I will keep the SP for now... But it's not looking promising...

Unlike some actors like Joe Pesci, who can convincingly play a goofball in Lethal Weapon, and a convincing gangster in Casino... I cannot get past the fact that I am watching Frasier who decided on a job change...

It's hard to keep from comparing to Frasier and Raymond, and this show comes nowhere near those two. We'll no doubt keep watching, hoping that the reputation (and no doubt, cost) of the cast will inspire the writers to greater things. But so far I have been very disappointed.

Pumpkin festival was a very good line, though, and the acting by the tasered guy was, I thought, very well done.

Formulaic and forgettable. I did break a smile when Fred Willard topped off Kelsey Grammar's coffee, however. Fred's great, and he's trying his best, but they have to give him something to work with. This SP is hanging by a thread.

All I could think of during the taser part was the kid who got tased at John Kerry's talk: "Don't tase me, bro!"

:)
ROFL yes! I was thinking that too... how it was too bad they couldn't have edited in a little line like that from him for some timely humor. I also thought that actor did a great job with his "post-tasing" interview style.

My favorite "fish death" was when the lamp came crashing down into the bowl, then the flash of light and smoke curling up! I seriously had to rewind and watch that twice more because I was laughing so hard. It was the most unexpected one - even though it soon became very predictable that even that LAST fish wouldn't make it back out of his office alive. One of my favorite lines was something like "he wasn't bringing you coffee all day, he was bringing you fresh victims!"

I don't want to spoil anything from The Office and be specific, but let's just say that I found it ODD that both of these comedies tried mine laughs from pet death (whether accidental or intentional) this week.

Was there a notice to the effect of "No fish were harmed in the filming of this episode. But come on! They're 25 cent goldfish!"? (I'm sure someone can improve on my comedy. :) I was expecting a funny take on an ASPCA notice, but never saw one.

[Edit to add: Yes, it was obvious, at least in HD, that the dead fish were fake.]

I agree this is hanging by a thread. I can't completely rule out the possibility that the only reason I haven't deleted the SP already is Montana, although I prefer to think I'm just giving the show a fair chance...
