I figured this was coming when they introduced the fiancée. A little close to home for a military brat. Doesn't help that a reservist from my company was KIA two weeks ago.

Wow, this was a touching episode. I felt so bad for all of them.
I go between a mix of sorrow for the fallen and total white hot anger that we are still in those two (now three) useless wars. (I won't watch Coming Home for that reason.) Now a friend has just gone to Afghanistan in the reserves. You would think an emergency room doctor would be safe but no one is.
That's only if the actress portraying her (Erin Krakow) has been signed to additional episodes. Has she been?BTW, baseless speculation. Tanya is pregnant with Jeremy's child.

/cynicism/ Given the fact that if any of the soldiers (Michael, Joan, Frank, Trevor or Chase) were to die, the widow(er) would have no viable justification to remain on the show, those soldiers are as safe as can be until contract negotiations begin for the lead actresses. So Jeremy was the only one who could be sacrificed in midseason. /cynicism/

All they'd have to do is move off-base -- they can still have friends and relationships with people on base. Pamela had to move off-base when she divorced Chase. I actually assumed it would be Chase that had been killed, since he seems to be absent from the show a lot anyway.Extremely well done episode.

Yeah - that was my initial guess too - I thought it would be Chase since the actor is off doing guest spots on all these other shows lately. And they brought in another possible love interest for Pamela. That it was Jeremy kind of surprised me - he has been a regular on the show since it started.
