arbitrary skipping...

Hi, folks!

I'm new to the Tivo, having been the owner of three ReplayTVs. Sadly, my latest box is starting to get flakey so I needed to replace it, but RTVs aren't made any more (company suffered death by lawsuit for implementing auto-commercial skipping).

Anyway, one of the features of the RTV is the ability to punch a number into the keypad, hit skip and it relocates that many minutest ahead. No extra frames, no delay, just boom, you're there.

Now I read that Tivo has only a 30-second skip (enabled by a hack, no less, until the Premier.) Has anyone tried to get a Tivo to perform an arbitrary skip as I've described above?

TiVo does have "skip to tick". Hit FF and then the -> button. It will skip to each tick mark in the green status bar (usually 15 minute increments).
To: OrangeBoy. I know it's not a feature; I was hoping there might be a hack to enable this. If Tivo had this ability you'd be really T'd off if it went away.

To: LifeIsABeach. Thanks for the tip. That comes close to what I'm looking for. Is there a way to change the tick interval? 'Skip ahead x minutes' is such a great feature, I'm surprised Tivo won't do this. I know I'm really going to miss it when my RTV finally goes belly up.

Unfortunately, no.
