Main tivo is a Roamio. Have two remote tv's with tivo mini and tivo mini vox.
The one with the tivo mini constantly either becomes unresponsive and freezes or the app crashes. This is running Netflix or HBOGo. I tried a 2x force connection and restart the mini. I tried replacing the mini with another A93 mini.
The mini vox tv works perfectly, the older mini is problematic. AppleTV using the same apps on the same tv works fine.

Anyone else with the same issue? I saw that there was a known "freeze" issue with older minis. Tivo Customer Support Community

Is this what I'm seeing? Any ideas?

Yes, the standard TiVo Mini are garbage for using apps they always crash for me. I can't use anything like Pandora or YouTube either without them crashing afterwards. Worse for me is it usually causes a network issue until I power cycle the mini.

My mini vox works fine with apps as you mention.

I have given up on using TiVo for apps, it is strictly used for live and recorded TV now with Fire stick, Android TV or built in apps on my HDTV. It solves the issue.

I look forward to not needing the standard mini so that I don't have to deal with this poor experience any longer. Maybe the new 4K TiVo running Android OS will be good, only time will tell.

It's probably what you are seeing and I can't find any indication that the problem has been corrected. It's still a "known" issue. It's been over a month since that page has been updated.

I called TiVo a few weeks back about somebody else's 1st gen Mini that would lock up after every first YouTube video played.

They replaced it with a Vox (that came with the remote even though they said it wouldn't) for $29 after initially offering $79 then $39...

YMMV...
