Anyone know? Anyone talk to folks at Best Buy and Circuit City and ask how these units have been selling? Hopefully they are flying off the shelves.
Any guesses on how well the TiVoHD is selling?

According to Amazon's site, the Tivo HD has been as high as #72 on their Electronics rankings, and has been hovering around 100 for a few weeks now.
Series 3 got as high as the mid 100's (from the 1000's)on the same rankings for Amazon when the rebate came out. This is just one site, and I don't know what these #'s truly mean. But at least it is good as a gauge.

Some really nice movement on the TiVoHD on amazon.com. It is now listed at #33 for best sellers in their electronics rankings.kmill14 said:

My guess is very well. The Amazon ranking is a positive note.
I bought one within a week or two of their announcement. From Circuit City. I was looking online and going back and forth between CC and BestBuy. I noticed that the stores in my area were flipping between in-stock and out-of-stock, and then in-stock again. This makes me think that they were indeed turning inventory.

Actually Tivo's CEO said the requirement was a price under $300. They could only speculate on how many would sell at the time Costco agreed to take them.Jay M said:

Seemed like every commercial this weekend between football had a TivoHD ad in it... I know the B/M stores in Memphis TN and Jackson MS have very low stock.

#33 on Amazon list is not too shabby. This is the easy time stuff for Tivo, because it seems like they're not spending much to market it. Just pent up demand, and natural cycle to video (ok everyone's bought an ipod and a digital camera, now lets buy video & HD stuff). HDMI cables seem to be selling quite well also which indicates the same.
Still, I think holiday push will be major for Tivo, and I actually think the Comcast delay is good for Tivo since it is driving increased sales to TivoHD, which is better margins for Tivo.

But are they selling them to people that don't currently own a Tivo? That's what I would lke to know. If every existing S2 customer is swapping up for a TivoHD then its just treading water not swimming.
