I just picked up my tivo hd Friday and am waiting on time warner to bring out my cable cards Wednesday. I asked if they had the multi stream cards and was told no. Anybody in the Dallas area on time warner have the m-cards from them? On a side note I had to grin as the rep tried to remind me of the 'loss of benefits' and 'added features' provided by the time warner box as I was expecting this and immediately asked when was the last time I ordered a pay per view which was Mosley vs De La Hoya back in 2000.

I'm in north Dallas and I have an M-card. The installer didn't know the difference between the M and S cards. I can't see how they train them to do anything other than put connectors on coax cable. Other than that, they are untrained buffoons.
The tech did bring out a mcard. Only problem now is card wont authorize so I dont get my hbo's and what not. Same installer came back out today but didnt bring any extra cards with him. He had dispatch try hitting the card a couple of times no change. so he is going ot come back out tomorow with more cable cards.
I have a single M card in my TiVo HD, as well. It multistreams fine, and I'm able to record two shows at once using just the one card.

When the tech came out to perform my install, he swore up and down that I'd need two cablecards, since "their system wasn't set up for multistream yet".

When the TiVo went to authorize the card, it told him to remove the second card, since it was receiving multistream off the first card. :)
I contacted my friend at TWC in the Irving Corp office.

M-Cards are available in certain areas of Dallas/Ft Worth. Other areas (The older areas) aren't capable of running the M-Cards yet.

So it really just depends on the area of Dallas that you are in.

I can get M-Cards in my area. Although parts of Frisco & Plano are not.

Are you allowed to record 4 programs with 2 multistream cards or is that just wishful thinking?

This is the forum for Series3; any chance of us getting the ability to multistream off just one card?
I am in Frisco - two Tivos, each with one MCard.

It was serious hell getting them to activate properly. Your issue has to do with provisioning and activation, you don't need more (or different) cablecards.

The trick is getting in touch with the people who can help you, because the phone reps can NOT.

Who did you contact in getting the mcard activated properly?
