Does anyone have this combination successfully running as an eSATA drive with their TiVo box?
The reason I ask is because the specs for the MX-1 enclosure state that it supports up to a 750GB drive, but the eSATA connector on it should just be a passthrough, shouldn't it? It's not clear whether it's an actual limit of the hardware, as it also has a USB 2.0 connection, or just that 750GB is the largest drive that existed when the specs were written.
As much as I'd like to, apparently I can't upgrade to this drive internally after having already upgraded to 500GB without losing my recordings (didn't find out that little gem until after I bought the drive and unsuccessfully tried it). That's definitely something I don't want to do, and I don't have another box to temporarily transfer them to (even if I could), so I'm going this route.
If the MX-1 doesn't work with a terabyte drive, is there a preferred single-drive enclosure that does?
