My TIVO appears to record correctly - ie the red light on the front panel appears when expected, whether the recording is triggered manually or by a season pass.

However, on playback the screen is totally black. The green progress bar appears and hides itself as normal, but nothing else appears.

Several programs recorded before this problem arose can still be played successfully.

Switching off and allowing the unit to reboot provided a temporary cure, but the fault has recurred and now seems terminal.

Is this likely to be a hard drive problem ?

Any advice would be most welcome
