I just don't remember why he's not rich anymore.

I thought his parents were off living in Europe or something.. they explained why he's living with this family..

but I don't remember them explaining why he had no money anymore. He's complaining about being poor in the last couple of episodes I've seen (I think I'm only now one behind current).

He didn't. He is being "Otto poor" because he doesn't like the rules his parents put on him for his money. He gave his credit cards to Katie.

You can tell he still isn't poor since they refurbed the apartment he and Oliver live in and he is going to go to school wherever he wants to be near Oliver.

ok thanks.. I swear he *says* he doesn't have money. (I only skimmed that linked page so far..)

I don't remember him giving the mom his credit cards.. guess I'll have to re-skim earlier eps from this season. It's highly unlikely I actually skipped one, since this is one of the shows I keep track of which eps I've seen.

He has became a great character in the show. Shame they are showing reruns of shows a week or two after first airing, if they have to rerun should use ones from previous seasons.
Really? He annoys me. But I get why he's there. The son is an Alex P. Keaton wannabe and he needs a friend to bring him there. But their relationship is weird, and I'm not quite sure where it's going.

They never explained why Ali Wong's character is gone, have they? I know the two new chars are at brunch nowadays (I keep thinking "Miggy!" when seeing the one guy).
Yeah, she just kind of disappeared. I know the other friend left the show in some sort of fight. Ali Wong was appearing via webcam for awhile, and now they just wrote in two new friends (who aren't nearly as interesting).

Wong can stay gone as far as I'm concerned, her and Hughes added nothing to the show.
Well they were the only to other "misfits" in town. One was a black lesbian and the other Asian, so it was a natural fit that they would be friends with the main character. Now they've added another African American and a gay man. But they lack the wise cracking of the original two. That's what made them great foils to Katie.

I've seen every episode, but I guess I don't watch too closely. I really don't remember details, like how Cooper got poor, or why Doris and Angela left, and how Tami and Katie met. I do remember JD's intro, as that was so recent. Wonder why I even bother watching. :)

I completely agree with this, but the new character said something like "Everyone thinks I'm an undercover cop all the time. I don't know why."

(I sing "Jump Street" in my head sometimes when seeing her.. since she sung the theme song too..)

I did think George Hamilton was entertaining as the "old rich neighbor" that the son was a fan of.

I kinda get that. I'm not sure why I'm watching either. So much about what I liked about the show is kinda gone. Katie has become more vindictive and mean and bitter. Her husband is basically a weak man. The vapid teenage daughter is falling for a smarter guy (probably the best part of the show). The son and the relationship with the former rich kid is weird and silly. And even Ana Kat and her, I guess, boyfriend Franklin is no longer cute, but kind of obnoxious. He's a jerk and she's no longer the weird cute younger daughter but now just a stuck up tween. There's little redeeming about them any more.

I stopped watching about a season and a half ago. I still have them all on my TiVo, but I just can't bring myself to get caught up. It just seems like a real chore, which I guess would explain why I stopped watching in the first place.
