Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything. Is anyone else having problems with the Amazon Prime Video app freezing/crashing? This started yesterday. My software version is 20.7.4b.RC3-846-6-846. Trying to binge a show and having it freeze and crash is driving me insane. I have tried rebooting the box and it didn't help.

Apparently, there is Error Code 1060, which has only come up now for the first time since yesterday. Googling that, it says I don't have enough bandwidth to stream video but nothing else would eat the bandwidth, I don't think. My phone is on the wifi but I am not using it when this happens. My laptop is on the wifi but I am just reading TCF. Could that be the cause? I have been binge-watching things for weeks on Netflix and Amazon without issue until yesterday.

Is the Tivo using WiFi or a wired Ethernet connection? If WiFi the signal may be weak at that spot. Wired is better. If you don't have an Ethernet jack nearby you can use MOCA or a pair of Homeplug devices that use your electrical wiring for Ethernet.

Its not weak, the problem is the app drops the wifi connection completely for no reason. Sometimes, its dropped just as you start the video.
Happened on the Roamio and iPad2. iPad is too old for any more updates.

TiVo streaming is very slow, so I bought a Roku for streaming. It is lightning fast compared to TiVo. Well, worth the small investment. I use Ethernet for TiVo and Roku. I got tired of waiting for TiVo to make a connection and start the show.

I just decided for the heck of it to check out my TV's smart capabilities. I had thought it was a smart TV but apparently not. (Long story but I didn't actually buy it so I am not out money for a smart TV so it's OK). Maybe I will have to look into a streaming device. Watching on my laptop, while it works, is no fun when I have a 55" TV to use.

The Amazon Prime movie interface is TONS better on the external devices as compared to the Tivo's, e.g. particularly with speed of FF/Rew and specifically being able to see a thumbnail as one is zipping along. And many, many other features.

The Roku Ultra is the best choice if you want an ethernet connection instead of just wifi.
I got the 2019 model for $79, still available on Amazon.
