Pulled the plugh and THEN thought about trying the android app. Too late. I'll have to try that if it happens again.
All went black except live window
I just finished watching a live show that I was also recording. At the end it asked if I wanted to keep or delete it. I chose to keep it so someone else in my household can watch it later.
When it switched to My shows (I assume that's what it switched to), I got an all black screen except for the live video window and it has stopped responding to the remote. I can't get any menus back and can't switch back to live TV (but I can still watch the channel that I was watching in the tiny live window)
It did this once before and after several attempts at getting it to respond to the remote, it rebooted. This time, it's not rebooting (not yet anyway). I may have to pull the plug.

When you are on a "non responding" HD "My Shows" menu screen... try the remote combo >
Thumbs Down, Thumbs Up, Play, Play.
This will reset the menu screen. You can even try it when the menu screen is responding just to see the key combo work. It takes just a few seconds, the menu will go to all black and then come back.
This avoids doing a total reboot of your TiVo and works without stopping any on going recording.
I even have this as a customized button macro on my Logitech Harmony remote.
