I tried searching the forum but couldn’t find a specific resolution for this, although I had read about this same thing happening in other areas last year. I have Charter Spectrum and 3 Motorola tuning adapters. A few days ago all of my TAs stopped working. They all have the constant blinks - no pattern. I tried the usual steps - power cycling, unplugging the usb as well as unattaching and reattaching the cable connections with a couple of them. I contacted my cable company to troubleshoot and send new signals but that didn’t work. I also contacted Tivo and they pointed me back to my cable provider. My 2 Bolts that I unplugged the TAs from and back in now show “No Tuning Adapter”. On my Roamio Pro which I didn’t touch the connections still shows “Tuning Adapter in Use” although the TA is still steady blinking. We had a lot of storms here several days ago before the TAs went out so I thought maybe water got in my cable box outside but I checked it and don’t see anything amiss. I have a ticket opened with my cable provider but I don’t know when they will be able to come to check the outside connections and signals. I prefer they don’t come into my house at this time with the pandemic going on. They also set it up to Fedex me replacement TAs, but I really don’t think it is equipment related because they all went out at the exact same time. I have an amplifier installed inside so could it possibly need replacing? I have a Spectrum cable box that receives the same channels that the TAs provide with no issues so I know that I don’t have an authorization issue for these channels. I have been told by the cable technicians in the past that there are very few customers in my area that use cable cards and TAs so it could be some kind of outage that no one else in my area has reported yet. I am in the middle TN area (near Cookeville). Is there anyone out there in this area that is also having TA issues? Or does anyone have an idea about what might have caused this or anything else that I should check?

I see you power cycle it, but did you do it properly. Unplug the USB, pull the power of the TA. wait about 30 seconds or more, power the TA and wait until it stops blinking before plugging the USB back.

also after doing that it should pull up a diagnostic ta adapter menu go into that about 6-8 menu lists and go into each one , see that it shows a lock on db upstream and downstream not pending, do not hit the refresh item it ll take longer everytime go back to main ta menu but not out of it as that will refresh it ,point is if you have signal lock above 40 i believe then you can exit out to the regular menu and it will repopulate the guide while in live view, should be about 1 hr to 6 hrs is the longest my has ever taken, sorry used to work on the main lines front end and every now and then they do get out of sync, used to be a tech could ping it and reauthorize it on the spot , but things have changed go figure, if you look around here there are several threads that cover it when changeing out your card or replaceimng your unit. good luck....

Thanks so much for all of the replies. Each of my tuning adapters are now working again!
(One thing I did learn when I called Spectrum to try and troubleshoot this is that at least one of the agents actually searches this forum when taking calls that are Tivo related. It is kind of funny that they come here for troubleshooting. I guess I should be careful and not talk too badly about them here! At least I know where to turn first for assistance the next time.)
Happy 4th to all!

I cannot believe I cannot find the answer to this after searching about 30mins on here and plain ole Google/Tivo website but WHERE DO YOU BUY A Tuning Adapter???? I am a Tivo OTA junkie since 1998 but my current client has a new Tivo Edge with cable card(s) and he needs one to get all the Spectrum channels (in the Columbus Ohio area). PLEASE let me know where he needs to order this device? Tivo? Spectrum? I got tired of looking and just thought I would post the question.
Thanks!.......Scott

You can't buy it and expect the CableCo to activate it. It has to come from them.

Just an FYI to maybe pass along to your customer. In my area tuning adapters (TAs) are not always available in the Spectrum stores and the technicians do not always have them on their trucks or have easy access to get them. You can try to work it out with the sales team to get a service call for a technician to drop one off at your home but the technician will either arrive and say they don't have one or if they do have one they will argue that they have to install it themselves. I have found it so much easier to get these shipped directly to you. Spectrum will now ship these out via Fed Ex, especially in light of the pandemic. You are also more likely to get all of the cables you need if they mail you a TA package, like the usb cable that connects the TA with the TiVo box. If you get a TA at a Spectrum store they don't always give you that cable unless you specifically ask for it.

Spectrum in our area (Elmore County AL) just upgraded their firmware to implement SDV thereby requiring cable card devices to have a Spectrum Tuning Device (STD) to receive certain channels. Contacted Spectrum and scheduled appointment for installation. I have two TIVO's a Bolt and Roamio Pro. Bolt has four A95 minis. After many attempts the tech was able to get the STD's to lock on and connect to TIVO. Issues revolved around signal levels. I have a splitter at the network interface with one drop going to my internet modem and the other to my TIVO boxes. Apparently there is a requirement for a specific balance of the signal between the two. The tech installed balanced splitters and then went through the startup procedure described above. I have also had to restart all the minis a couple of times to get then to see the SDV channels. It will be interesting to see what issues I have going forward.

UPDATE 07/28/2020 Both units failed within 24 hours with one unit losing lock with head end and the other maintaining lock but unable to switch channels. Contacted Spectrum and was advised there was an outage in my service area so they could not create a ticket or schedule a tech. The outage was noted on the Spectrum website. Other than the impact on the tuners all my other service was working properly. Both non-switched cable channels and internet. About 12 hours later both adapters came back on line and service has been normal since. Apparently these units are so sensitive that minor variations in the cable environment will disable them. I did see a Spectrum bucket truck at the node at the end of my drive and again about 2 miles away at another node.

quick thank you post. trying to watch 'my' football game tonight, suddenly my tuning adapter stopped working and couldn't get the channel. spectrum call center is swamped and doesn't know quite what to do anyway. came here, followed instructions and my spectrum tuning adapter is mostly working again (looks like I'm still missing *some* channels, but the one I need for tonight is working. I'll deal with it more thoroughly tomorrow.
