No news anywhere about this.
Pre Trump Fallon was kicking his butt then during all of Trumps term and the election Colbert was a way for people to commiserate and he became number 1. Now that the election is over you can sense he is struggling to define himself. This is one reason I think he has stayed in the office so to speak vs bringing back the studio. Seth Meyer changed his gig to open with the desk and has worked better for him.due to upcoming relaxation of covid restrictions on broadway, i'm hoping he's working on the return of at least a distanced audience - it's been too long...

Colbert on the other hand came from "The Colbert Report" which is not something he can do here because it was a fake character. Fallon has a lot of versatility and Kimmel has the man on the street.
Colbert has not found much besides mocking Trump.
I agree that Colbert is more high brow and during times of stress and tragedies Colbert has the best monologues for us to empathize with but Fallon is more versatile and I think does better with non political guests. Fallons kids are also great additions. I enjoyed his walks with his wife Nancy.fallon is ok, but has always been too smug for my tastes, even though he appears to be a great guy - can't watch him. kimmel is funny, but too tame and needy for me - can't watch him, either. colbert has always been my choice over any of the others, studio or office, before or after trump, and i don't see this changing anytime soon.
Thanks.Typical two week hiatus around all the big holidays and Labor day is coming.
