I have mixed feelings on this show. It seemed that they tried too hard with the jokes and puns. I don't know if the element of the daughter is necessary for the show, but I'll give it a couple more shows to see if I like, unless Fox cancels it before then. :)

Based on me being the one to start this thread from Wednesday's airing, doesn't look good...

I swear this forum search is broken. This is the 2nd time that I searched the exact words and nothing comes up. I apologize.
The only way to get any decent search results is to go to the "Advanced search" and do a search for the phrase in quotes. Other than that, it's nearly useless.

Yeah, the search function is terrible. It's also unbelievably clumsy that you have to search three separate times to find a thread if you're not sure how old it is.

If I could pick one thing for our new owners to improve around here, this would be it.

I can only find things by using the advanced and then the title search. Since I started doing that, I have a much higher success rate in finding the threads I want.

Not only do you have to use advanced / title search, but you need to prefix each word with "+" if the words are common. For example I was looking for a "Big Love" thread, but just putting "Big Love" in the title search came back with all sorts of stuff. Using "+Big +Love" got me just what I wanted.

I totally agree, though, the search needs some help. The single most common thing to want to do, at least in this forum, is search for the title of a show in the title of the thread. It's a serious drag that this is so difficult to do.

No, no -- in fact there is a VERY easy way to do this (although it has nothing at all to do with the forum's search function): Doug's index of TV show threads. It's here: http://www.2150.com/tcforum/nowplaying.asp and there is also a link in dswallow's sig and a sticky thread (third one down in TV talk). You can use the pulldown menus to easily find EVERY non-archived thread about a particular TV show that has been in TV Talk. (The very most recent thread may not appear instantly in the list, but in that case it's usually still on the first page of the forum.)

Do people not know about this? It's an incredible resource (thank you again Doug).
