9.1 on Pioneer 810

Well, last night my Pioneer 810 got upgraded to 9.1 and I have observed a behavior that I don't like, but I don't know if it's a bug or a deliberate change.

When at Tivo Central, I used to be able to play the DVD by pressing Play when on the menu entry for the DVD disc. That no longer works, you have to press Select twice while on the DVD line of the menu to get a DVD to play.

On another note, with the upgraded graphics in the UI, things are stunningly sharp on my HDTV via component. At least until playing a DVD burned by the Tivo... the UI text is chunky, etc. Wish they would upgrade the UI that gets burned onto the DVDs. Probably dreaming, but it would be nice!

Mine is also behaving this way (having to press select on the DVD)

Also, even though it reads "No Disc Inserted", the little watch icon just stays up forever, now.
I also have the same problem on my Humax. Very annoying. I liked being able to play the DVD from TiVo Central
Hi,
My problem seems worse than yours. The audio has gone down to a minimun for all tivo sounds, programs and everything. Cable input and TV are fine. Reboot did not fix it.

Dvd says Not recognized even if there is no dvd inside, more importantly the dvd firmware number in the settings is gone.

Any ideas, I'm desperate!

ps. Tivo said that it was pioneer's problem as it's not related to their update.
We received 9.1 on our Pioneer 810-HS but we haven't tried hitting "play" on the DVD. We do have another only slightly annoying problem. When we used to go into "sleep mode" the screen would go dark. Now, even with the front panel off, the screen on the TV is that "shifting" blue with the usual three-sided rectangle, but no text or logo or anything. Anyone else see something like this?

We didn't have the problem but I thought some of the audio settings were changed from where I last left them. Could have been my SO changing things but I routinely check all settings when we have a major update. Change the Tivo Sounds setting up and down to see if there is any difference (suggestion).

Same problem with my 810. Won't play DVD's at all. This happened right after the firmware update. On with tech support right now.
My DVR-810H still plays (and records) DVDs after the 9.1 update.
Alright for some reason the second reboot (pulled power and let sit for 30 seconds) seems to have got the DVD option back to life. Seems to be like rolling dice!
No problem with my 810HS after the 9.1 upgrade either, so far.
i have a problem with my 810H and 9.1.

when i view something that have white background or some white, the signal is gone and back in 10 sec, now i cant see any show or record, my source i think is too bright, but in the 8.1 i dont have this problem
I can no longer record to DVD-RW discs. I used to do this all the time so that I could take the DVD to play in another room. Then, I could erase the DVD and record again...much like the way VHS tapes used to be utilized. Now, I can only record to DVD-R discs. I'm forced to waste a disc each time I want to watch something in another room. I have a Pioneer 810 with 9.1
DVD-RW should still work - is this the same media that used to work?

I have the same issue with the sleep mode since the upgrade to 9. I'm guessing it's not hurting anything but it is annoying. On a different note is there a quick key combination to get to sleep mode?
