Didn't see this in the other threads... before the 9.1 upgrade, I had many wishlists containing double-quotes (") and ampersands.

e.g.
"CHARLIE BROWN"
and
"RED SOX" & Sports/Baseball

The quotes were created by clicking the Pause key -- though in 9.1 this is no longer supported. The ampersand was created by doing a keyword search and then adding a category.

Anyway, the problem in 9.1 is that the wishlist NAMES are now screwed up... when you go to View Upcoming Programs, or Rename wishlist, it looks like this:
"CHARLIE BROWN"
and
"RED SOX" & Sports/Baseball

Obviously, this is HTML entity codes, escaped unnecessarily.

RECOMMENDATION: Do a smart renaming of these wishlists in the next software patch. E.g. change
"RED SOX" & Sports/Baseball
to
Red Sox and Sports/Baseball
for example

and
"CHARLIE BROWN"
to just
Charlie Brown

Note the upper-to-lower case change as well.

Holy cow! Please add this to the 9.1 Bugs thread:

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=368311

How are we supposed to use a Wishlist to find multiple word titles without quotes? A AND B is very different from "A B". Now, I'm afraid to edit my Wishlists since the changes (the &quot stuff, anyway) get made upon editing.

BTW: Have you found a release guide or something describing these changes? I tried looking on tivo.com, but everything there still shows the old way of doing things. I have no idea if the new Wishlists treat multiple words as one "quoted" title (using the AND, OR or NOT capabilities to work with single words) thus making quotes unnecessary, or if quoted terms are no longer possible.

I noticed this, too, but I think my problem is worse that just appearances. On my S2, I had a couple of wishlist entries set up to auto record some sports-related programs which were built using sub-categories. Neither one recorded on Sunday. When I checked the recording history, both programs did not record due to someone in my household changing the options. I primarily use this S2 as a backup to the S3, so I rarely change any settings on it, and no one else knows how to use the Tivo's except to watch recorded programs.

Anyway, I checked the To Do list for these 2 auto record wishlists and it indicated that there were no upcoming programs to record, even though I know there are next weekend.

So, I re-created the wishlists using the new wishlist editor (which is quite nice, BTW). After setting up the wish lists and setting them to auto-record, my programs now show up in the To Do list. I have since deleted the erroneous wish lists.

I'm not sure if this has to do with my wishlists being built from sub-categories, if it is becasue of the display problems, or if it is just coincidence. Everyone might want to check their auto recording wishlists to verify that all is OK.

BTW, I mentioned this is my 'backup' TiVo. I canceled yesterday's race on the S3 so I could watch/record baseball and football, knowing that the race would record on the S2. Went to watch the race on the S2 this morning and it wasn't there. Bummer! Now I have to work around the house instead! :(

I should mention that I got the update this week, the wishlists worked fine last weekend...

OK. I did some quick and dirty testing of this. I picked two keywords that I knew would probably have plenty of hits: PILOT and LOVE. A keyword search on PILOT pulled up around 20 hits. A keyword search on LOVE pulled up around 190 hits. A keyword search on LOVE (dot) PILOT (that (dot) is supposed to be the big dot that appears with the new AND capability) brings up one hit. And, a keyword search of just LOVE PILOT finds nothing. So, it looks like just entering multiple terms into the keyword area will be like putting them in a quoted string under previous versions (whew). Others should confirm this, though.

The formatting problem with the name is definitely a bug.

Yeah, I was surprised by this as well. Something you think would have been caught in the beta.

My prior wishlists for things such as "2005 & Movies" displayed as
(2004) * Movies on the Wishlist page...but if you went into it, it looked like:
2004 & Movies

The results were zero for each of these.
----------
I had to delete the wishlists and recreate to get results.

I have the 9.1 software as of this morning. I browsed many of the selections and found most were working correctly. I did notice that when I went to do a Wishlist for multiple actors. I put in Actor...Cage, Nicholas, and Add another Actor....Reeves, Keanu. But (maybe I didn't do something right) the system did not save this wishlist...system noted that it was a partial list. So ????

So what is the rhyme or reason to how Keyword WishLists were converted? I had different things happen to my unquoted WishLists:
24 DAY did properly convert to 24 • DAY;
FOOTBALL GIANTS somehow became (FOOTBALL GIANTS);
LETTERMAN SURVIVOR stayed as one entry (like "LETTERMAN SURVIVOR", which will probably never occur now).

Why didn't the unquoted WishLists convert like 24 DAY did?

And, I had quoted WishLists converted even stranger; some kept their quotes, some kept their quotes AND became (optional), and some converted properly.

Compounding the issue is the new bug where your position in the list resets to an item on the first page of the WishLists.

Sigh. I guess it is not possible to fix the WishList conversion problems in a future release (except to maybe automatically remove any existing quotes), but hopefully the positioning issues can be fixed.

I played with it last night and I believe that when you enter more than one word as one keyword, it's the same as when you used to put quotes around them. To have more than one keyword where you want all to be present somewhere in the description, you enter them as separate keywords.
