Since there's been no action on this new series, thought I'd start a series thread. Definitely has a MASH vibe, though much more "adult" and not as much silliness. Enjoyed the first ep...looks like a 10 ep series. On the Paramount network, at least for now, you can view the entire first ep on their Web site for free.

Sex scene could have been done much more tastefully. Glorifying soldier who has sex with other soldiers' girl friends; probably the worst thing a soldier can do. Disappointing given all the hype. Also reminded me of the series "Combat Hospital" only CH was much better.

Agreed! They dont think alot of female soldiers apparently.

What makes you think that this character is supposed to represent all female soldiers?

When you watched The Shield, did you think that Vic Mackey's crew is how the creators thought of all male cops?

A corrupt cop. But certainly the creator didn't intend to imply that all cops were corrupt; it just so happened that the show focused on a corrupt group of cops. Just like there's no reason to believe that the creators had intended to make any general statements about female soldiers just because there's one in the show you feel acts immorally...

There's no reason to believe they didn't either. We are just left with what we see on the screen and react in a way we deem appropriate.

While E1 was meh for me, I’ll keep the 1P for now. It definitely won’t be the first recording I’ll go to though. And even though I find Durkin attractive and don’t normally mind titillation, I thought there were more sex scenes than necessary and they should get the plot moving along.
