So, we're watching the Emmys telecast opening number, and when it concludes we see a shot of the Emmytones, a chorus composed of several TV stars. One of them is Wilmer Valderrama, star of That 70's Show and the voice of Handy Manny.

The others are Zachary Levi, Cobie Smulders, Taraji P. Henson, Kate Flannery, and Joel McHale.
Since my son (3 years old) is a big fan of Handy Manny, I take the opportunity to show him the person behind the voice.

"Thing 1, that's the man who does the voice of Handy Manny."

"That's Manny?"

"Yep, that's him."

(Jumping up and down and pointing at the screen) "In your face, Handy Manny!"

:D

This'll get moved to Now Playing shortly, but to summarize thus far:

An insufferable Jane Lynch opening number and monologue (she used to be funny, right?), a Modern Family bonanza, and Melissa McCarthy gets her Oscar for Bridesmaids--er, excuse me, her first Emmy for her work on Mike & Molly.
Ha. ;)

I just started watching thirty minutes or so ago. Several huge surprises.

And the leading women of comedy made me laugh.
The whole beauty pageant lineup for Best Lead Actress for Comedy was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. And now they can never ever use it again, for any awards show. :)
And big    to Melissa McCarthy. Plainfield, IL represent!!
Ha ha. Office parody for the win.

Where, exactly, is Plainfield? I'm guessing up north?
Thought "The Office" bit was pretty good. Some good cameos in there.
Oh geez. Every time I see that last moment with Captain Phil, my heart breaks a little.
And that color and dress is fabulous on Jane Lynch.

I should probably not be fast-forwarding through the show so aggressively. I could not figure out what they were doing.
Is anyone else's audio off tonight? So much of the goings on on stage are quiet or drowned out.
The Daily Show writer's acceptance speech ...

Yes. I actually was starting to wonder if it was my receiver.
HOLY CRAP! Live Lonely Island with Michael Bolton.

Oh. compilation. I'm less excited. I love that song with Michael Bolton.
Slow on the uptake tonight. Took me an entire minute to figure out this Lonely Island parody. Blech.

So they just performed a live version of a Digital Short? That's awfully... meta.

Southwest of Chicago, about 35 miles. Will County.

Oh, so it's an SNL thing? Got it now.
