I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to 6.3e. In the first week, I had two hangs. I noticed both times the hangs happened shortly after the nightly call. So I unplugged the phone line again, and haven't had a hang in over two weeks. Coincidence? Dunno, but try it out and see if it helps you too.

My freezes/lockups/non-response always happened after I selected the digital OTA channel for the local ABC station. I removed it from my channels list, don't access it anymore and haven't had a problem for over a month. Go figure.
