I just bought the 1TB version for $346. I'd think most folks would want max storage, and for a bit less than $100 extra you can double it (storage).
Well, "max storage" -- internal-only, warranty be damned -- currently stands at 8TB, and the $100 saved can go a long way to paying for a 3+TB DIY install. There's much to be said for just getting by with the stock drive, though, and keeping the warranty intact.

^^^ Which exactly what I did! well not exactly as I got mine when the same refurb was $199 and Red drive was $99 for a grand total of $300 ;)
Hey!!! :policeofficer:

Are you authorized to post outside of AVS Forum: DVD Recorders (Standard Def) ? :)

How have you been? After being 'in bed / scared to die' for ~3½ years, I'm *FINALLY* active again. Going in for 'Open-Heart' surgery in a few months now that I'm on MediCare.

^^^ wow, member since 2001! I was going to say I may have been a member here longer than you, but was I wrong :D
I don't post here much, but AVS and in particular the DVDR forum has been absolutely DEAD :( so I thought I'd check out TCF again :)

Yeah, I saw that the banner advertising the flash sale was gone from the TiVo website landing page at some point mid this afternoon. :(
I thought I had all day. Though, even then, I got busy tonight and totally forgot until just before midnight local time; no saving grace midnight PDT, this time. /sadface

And we'd just discussed over dinner buying one for my aunt and uncle, who... get this... don't even know what a DVR is, and responded... "that sounds nice"... when we described some of the features. (Pausing live TV, etc)

So they shut the sale down this afternoon, then, well before the end of the day!?!?

Such a sweet response by the relatives! :)

I'm not sure when the sale went away, precisely. But mid-afternoon, I was at the website checking my account and noticed that the website landing page no longer had the flash sale banner on it, as it had for the past few days, and I wondered if the sale had been ended mid-day. I meant to dig around and check things out, but that got lost in the shuffle.

I'm horrible about these sorts of sales. I know that I should grab the promoted item as soon as I see it, but especially when there's a listed period (as here), I always think to do it later--there's time. Bad! These things just so easily evaporate away.

I just checked the Slickdeals thread on this deal and the last post I saw was from someone around dinnertime, saying that s/he had just been able to purchase the deal by using a Google cache of the page. And so, presumably "officially" gone by some point in the afternoon. Just for the heck of it, I then tried the cached page and, lo and behold, when I clicked the purchase button, I once possibly got the item added to my cart; but then when I tried again, there was nothing in the cart . . . . And so, if you're still up and around, you might like to try it--who knows what might happen!

The Google cache page: TiVo Roamio

Heh, I'd already checked my cart to see if I happened to have placed the OTA there before flaking, but no. And the cached page didn't do it either. C'est la vie. Nice thought/try, though. Thanks.

My shortage could also be resolved if I were to find someone offering a good deal on a BOLT upgrade; unfortunately we were all DirecTiVo for a decade+ until jumping over to Roamio/Minis (after a brief flirtation with W7MC), so no old TiVos on our account to activate the promo.

I still have one in my cart, and it looks like I could pull the trigger today. I just don't need it, and don't really want to go through the effort of buying and flipping on Ebay to net maybe $10 after all the Ebay and Paypal fees.
