Can I use a 4 tuner Premier Hard Drive to replace a failed Hard Drive in a 2 tuner Premier? My model is TCD746320. If so, is there anything I have to9 do to make it run smoothly OR simply drop it in and it will work properly?

Thank you in advance. :)

If the software on the 4-tuner Premiere hard drive is out of date it will probably work. During the automatic update process to 20.5.9 or 20.6.1 it will download the correct software for your TCD746320. If it's already current, forcing a kickstart 52 emergency software reinstall may do the same thing.

You will have to run Clear & Delete Everything after the new drive is installed to "marry" it to the encryption chip on the motherboard. Until you do, it will have error 51 messages and all functionality will be disabled.

A safer option is to start off with a clean 746320 image. Use DvrBARS to restore it and jmfs to expand into the additional space. Both of those programs are available in the Upgrade forum.
