hmmm, I think I tried that one, it skips to the end of the program, then back to the beginning. Is that behavior supposed to change after programming it for 30 sec skip?
Yup!

Tried it again, now I've managed to make the >| button do nothing at all.

Select - Play - Select - 3 - 0 - Select

didn't seem to do anything, so I tried hitting the >| button before the final select, which seems to have disabled the button. Uh-oh, now what?

Are you trying to set this watching a recording? Won't work with live TV. You need to set the code in while a recording is playing.

If the entry of the code is successful, you should hear three chimes.

Finally got it to work, I think the problem was the TV between the remote and the box. Duh.

I don't think you hafta reboot to reverse this, just re-enter the code. And it looks like FF + >| now goes to the next hash mark? Is there an explanation of the hash marks somewhere?

No you don't, but if you had somehow bunged it up by adding extra buttons in there, a reboot would have set you back to original to start over.

What kind of an explanation are you looking for? The hash marks just make it easier to jump through a program.

Glad you got it sorted.

I think by explanation he (she) might wonder how far it jumps for each hash. That depends on how long the program is that you recorded. You can tell how much time between hash marks by how much time there is from the start of the progress bar and the end of it.

Note that if you << or <<<, then press the ->| button, the recording will jump to the beginning of your program (or buffer, in the case of live TV). Fairly useful to know.

No, it just jumps back to the previous hash mark (for recorded programs).

It only jumps to the beginning when watching live tv.
