All my remotes just died for no reason. It is not a battery issue. What is happening and is there any fix????????

2 suggestions:

Use the controls on the box itself to go to the system info screen and then try a remote.

If you have a remote that has a sat/tv switch in the middle, make sure it is on sat.
I know the remotes are IR, not RF, but is there anything new in the environment that could be interfering with all three.

As I said, since they are IR, I can't imagine what.
Try this - remove all remotes from the room except the one you are testing - a stuck button on a remote will "jam" the system and not allow it to work.
Plasma TV's can induce IR interference, as can compact florescent bulbs.

Any IR remote with a stuck key, or wedged under a sofa cushion, can put enough stray IR interference into the room to mess with other remotes ability.

Please don't invite me for dinner at your house. ;)
Once killed two remotes in one day by petting a cat with the remote controls.

Static charge killed them both.
Hmm... I don't try and change channels with the cat's brush, so the idea of brushing a cat with a remote has never crossed my mind... but now I know it is a BAD idea!

The cat and the remote???

:D
I watched one of the remotes die in my hands (sounds dramatic, I know). The red light was slightly less bright each time I pushed a button, and after 5 clicks there was no light whatsoever. I have 2 units and 3 remotes... make that three peanut shaped bricks. I fear I am screwed!!!!!!
Put the batteies in backwards and push a button or two and then put them back right. This "trick" has been used in the past by some to "reset" the remotes, I've done it with a couple of mine and it doesn't harm them.
