I don't know if this has been posted here already, but Slate has a really cool interview with Michael Loceff, one of the main writers of 24 how has been involved with the show from the beginning. (The interview is spoiler-free)

Over the course of the interview, Michael addresses some of the things we often complain about. :) Near the end TiVo gets a shout-out too!

That was a really awesome interview; nice and lengthy, but I barely even noticed because it contained a lot of insight. He really seemed to delve into the main objectives of the show. A must-read for any 24 fan.

Yeah, I agree, that was a very interesting article.

He had a point about TiVo I'd never thought about. We all know that TiVo changes the way we watch TV, but I hadn't thought about it making people more willing to watch shows with long story arcs. Yet, it's quite true. Before TiVo, I was less willing to watch a mini-series or a show like this because of the certaintly I was going to miss some of it. Now, of course, that doesn't happen.

Good interview, if you like 24, read it.
