This thread is only for discussion of episodes that have aired on ESPN even though the entire tournament is already complete (except, I assume, for the final table?). No spoilers other than what's been telecast, please.

I'm not sure you're aware, but ESPN already broadcast the entire tournament down to the final 9. It was pretty interesting. They had 2 featured tables and the whole thing was done on a 30 minute delay. They didn't show any hole cards until after the hand, and then, they only showed the hole cards on hands that went to a flop.

For the 2011 tournament? This is a yearly event and the guide data shows that these are new episodes, not repeats.

Yes, but the Tuesday episodes are done weeks in advance.

Actually, I thought the live episodes were pretty boring. If my Tivo weren't already semi-flaky, I still think I would have stopped watching. There was just TOO MUCH to keep up on.

Yes, what's coming up now is the over produced Norm and Lon shows that hey have every year. Like I said, the earlier ones were 30 minute live delayed. The shows lasted all day too. I think I only caught the last 2 or 3 days of it since I didn't know it was on either.
Wow, I had no idea that ESPN had done that. Is it the first year they've done so? Anyway, this thread is to discuss the weekly Tuesday eps, so would still appreciate no spoilers until after the weekly airing.

When they got down to 10 that had to be the most boring 4 hours on TV. Bet, everyone fold, bet everyone fold for 4 hours.
Why did they start with Day 3? Did I miss day 1 and 2 of the main event. Last week was another type tournament

Yes, this was the first year.

No, I think they just didn't show it this year. I like that they showed a few other tournaments this year, but unfortunately still no Omaha, Stud, Razz, etc.

Just finished watching the first 2 eps. I, too, wonder why they started the ME coverage at day 3? Oh well, seemed like they showed a lot of poker being played instead of so much other filler crap like I remember from last year. I would have liked to have seen some of the earlier ME stuff, but I enjoyed what they've shown so far.

What's the date of the final table? I don't visit the poker sites since I hate ME spoilers. I'm assuming it's in November again, but no idea on what days.

It starts Saturday, November 5th and goes until someone wins (probably ending on Monday the 7th).
We watched a fair amount of the live delay coverage and really enjoyed it. Since you didn't see the hands until after the action was over, it was fun to speculate on the hands while they were in progress.

Every single year, I come across a spoiler of some sort for the Series no matter how hard I try to avoid it. With the live coverage, I got to follow along and although it's a long time until the final table, I don't feel spoiled at all.

Thanks!

I've actually managed to avoid spoilers on the Nov 9 for the last couple of years. Helps to not visit any poker sites and I've learned to FF through all commercials on ESPN since they seem to be the worst at spoiling! I'm not usually concerned with spoilers on the TV shows I watch, but I did notice that my enjoyment of the WSOP weekly eps increased a lot once I started avoiding spoilers for the ME. I wish I have known about the 'live' coverage as I would have viewed it. Oh well, note to self for next year.
I just found out the host of a monthly game I play in, his sister finished 6th in the womens event.
Rally disliked them not showing days 1 and 2.

They certainly could have left off the cheesy 'heads up rivalries' shows to make room for days 1 and 2.
I liked it better in years past when the show most of the games other then just no limit texas hold em.
Has so many "big names" gone out this early in the past, day one or two? Seems like more than normal, but maybe I am just not remembering it correctly. I would like to have seen some of the hands that took them out.
I think they have but given the compressed nature of Days 1 & 2 in this coverage it just appears to be a lot more than usual. In the past those eliminations occured over the course of several shows.
