Well, after talking to yall, I decided to buy the 180 hr. tuner with a 3 yr. service contract. The UPS guy just dropped off my Tivo today, and much to my surprise, he came with 2 boxes; both with 180hr. tuners. I double checked my confirmation email that Tivo sent me when I placed the order and it said that I had only been charged for 1 box. What do I do?

Only one of those boxes likely has the 3 year service plan attached to it. The other will not work without activation of a service plan. Maybe TiVo will let you keep the box for free rather than return it if you buy service on that one too. You can never have too many TiVos.

yah, call the customer service and see what kind of deal you can make. At the least they need to send you a prepaid shipping lable so you can return it.

Maybe its Tivo's way of drumming up more business....

They send you an extra unit with hopes you will add it to your account... meaning more money from you.

At the worst, they send a return label so you return the unit. So they are out the shipping cost.
