So I have not yet seen the pre-roll ads but I suspect they have broken my DVR functionality.

I get the following image come up on my TiVo Bolt+ when I try and play any show.

I just went over my 1TB limit on data for the month with Comcast and despite configuring non Comcast DNS it seems that the issue is preventing the ads from loading. As such I can't skip or exit this screen.

Any ideas? I have requested that TiVo opt me out but that could take days. Until then I have to watch shows on minis which seems ridiculous!

Update: It seems tivo+ is also affected and rebooting does not fix the issue. Netflix and plex are unaffected.

FIX: I went into the vewd store and loaded emby. That allowed me to clear the pop up error. From there all web apps worked again. Not ideal but a fix at least.

That's not the "over 1tb limit" message...
Regardless, it's yet another fascinating unintended consequence of the Pre-Roll add page just being a HTML5 web page. Intercept that one site without calling cleanUpAndSuspend();MaxPromo.Device.continueToRecording();, and the end user is just stuck....

However - Xfinity has just proven that the unit has little to know protection against spoofing that site... so what happens if we spoof that site and replace the contents with a well formed wrapper, and a immediate call to continueToRecording()... hmm.....
